Nitro tuner shake ups coming

What you have been posting about John Force whether here say or not is a person assassination on John Force!
Again, I was straight up when I said it was purely speculation just like the JFR employees not getting paid which was posted by someone else. Is that not clear? God forbid if someone says something negative about John, butt hurt comes out everywhere. I guess Austin Coil is wrong about John and now Jimmy is in the wrong also?

What if somebody put trash out about Paul Miller of course it's just speculation, wonder how people are going to take it. Paul, I don't give a damn if your speculating about Joe Blow it's not right. You Just Don't Get It

I thought you were better than this.

I'M DONE

You`re not alone. A lot of self righteous bs on this site coming from a few people who think they know it all and were never here when this place started. But have no problem telling us how it is. Too bad this place isn't like it was 10 yrs ago....but hey, this sport ain't as fun as it was 10 yrs ago. This site is a shell of its former self.

Dang, I can’t believe some people are seemingly so wound up over the fact Force told Prock to leave immediately.
That’s just standard business practice.
If you have an employee who is going to work for a direct competitor, you would be a fool to not have that person leave as soon as notice is given.
While nobody doubts Prock’s integrity, his mind is going to be occupied by things like wondering if the change is really for the best, does he need to sell his house, I hope The Don is easy to work for, etc., etc.
It’s those little things that can distract a person from the job at hand.
And, yes, there are those who will procure secrets and/or business practices from their former company and take to their new company.

Sorry you feel this way. Feel free to trash me however you see fit, I have thick skin. If we all agreed on everything this place wouldn't exist. This place was built on people having differing opinions on subjects (and yes I have been here since the beginning) and you are all uptight and have butt hurt because people are talking about what might be going on at JFR to lead to such a shocking move. You clearly stated you like John and you're defending him, which I would expect from a fan of his. John himself brought up funding countless times in his news conference and someone else brought up the pay issue, it doesn't take a genius to link the two and speculate what's going. Again, sorry if that offends you, but we are here to talk about the situation because we all have passion for the sport.

I disagree. I've been an executive recruiter (albeit in finance / Risk Management area) for over 30 years and I can't recall ONE CASE where an employer showed a departing employee (who gave notice) the door. I know it happens but, to do so - IMHO - does send the message that one's integrity is being questioned.

I think this move (and I'm a big JFR fan) is pig-headed, childish and REALLY STUPID.

That said, I don't know why Jimmy P felt compelled to give notice BEFORE the end of the Season - Unless he suspected Force would do EXACTLY as he did; - "Cut off his nose to spite his face."

:cool:For those few that are interested Ford Racing reported that Mike Neff will be tuning John's car at Vegas.

If you want to watch the heart of Drag Racing go to motormainiatv.com . Live feed till 10pm. Time trials going on now first round will start soon, watched last night well run show.

<snip>

I've worked for a Fortune 20 company for 32 years and am aware of numerous examples of people being shown the door immediately when they indicated that they were going to work for a competitor. It's SOP and they expected it.

Smoother transitions have been the norm for people who resign but are not going to work for a competitor.

I think the 2 week or "by end of year" notice is very situational. In some cases, it may be appreciated by the employer, maybe even help a transition. In other cases, not so much. Love him or hate him, I get what Force did, it was more important to finish the season on his terms, knowing who's with him or not, than to maybe hurt his championship chances. As far as who's worth more, spends more, is in trouble, etc., who cares? All these guys have my respect, they've each taken different paths to get where they are, and I think they're all amazing stories. What's most important, as far as big show drag racing goes, is that all these team owners are out there because they have huge passion for the sport, have made big sacrifices for the sport, and we need them all.

In most big business the higher up you are the more likely you will be shown the door if you give notice

Exactly. Same thing happens with key sales people and it's done to protect the business. Plain and simple.

Think about it...Why, as an employer, would you give that person additional time to have access to business critical information, data, account histories, financials or contracts? The decision to make the resignation effective immediately also eliminates the risk of the outgoing employee possibly poo-pooing the company during that time and it having a negative affect on the rest of the workforce.

Most likely the employee had already been collecting information to take to his or her new job prior to giving their notice and employers know that, but this way they put an immediate end to it and protect anything else they didn't have a chance to collect.

Maybe if I was a race team owner I would put a "non-compete" clause in their contract that if they leave or act outside the team, then they can't compete against us for 12 months....try the IHRA or somewhere else for a while;)

You have to be careful because you own what you post. Posting stuff like "JFR is not paying his employees" can and will end up getting you sued by the man himself. He would have no problem claiming your comments have damaged his reputation and has had a direct negative effect on his ability to get sponsors causing him financial loss, besides the fact that he could prove people would be reluctant to come to work for him thinking they would not get paid..
