did tony or vandergriff make a pass in FL?
if not, do you think their presence (hauler) was necessary to show
prospective sponsors they are serious players?

I just talked to Tony. He's working on putting a release out, hopefully later today, that details his program for Pomona. I don't think he has a primary sponsor yet, but he is working on that!

Hopefully soon after the news release I'll record an interview with Tony for rpm2night.com

I will keep you updated.

Schweet! I love it! I know it isn't a primary all year deal, but good for Tony, anyhow. Great to see ARW step up. Maybe we can get some wheel wars going. C'mon Weld, Foose, Budnik, Ultra, anybody...where ya at?

And let the "woody" jokes commence in 3...2...1...

I don't think it will be "Hard" for T-Ped to land a sponsor this season.....;)

That car is wicked.....

Quite frankly, I'm getting board with these jokes...:D Seriously, thats a good looking car!

Thanks a ton to American Racing for stepping up and supporting drag racing.

I actually recently just bought a set of American wheels for my daily ride. They are really good quality wheels for a pretty reasonable price, I'm very glad to see some of my money went to a good cause.

I'll definitely go American on the next set that will be coming soon on my son's truck.

I don't get it

OK, I'm at sea here. Why the woody theme for a racing wheel sponsor???

I must be a bit slow on the uptake here tonight.....

David - I'm liking the retro West Coast theme. While American Racing is not quite as old as the NHRA, it's pretty close. I'm sure there were a lot of Woodies in the 60's with TorqThrust (sp?) wheels! Here's some history.

American Racing: Official Manufacturer Website- custom, chrome, polished and painted wheels

If that's not enough connections . . . it is just freakin' *****in' -

And I'd really like to know who did that rendering. There's a signature behind the rear wheel but my poor old eyes just can't read it.

Thanks for the link Jim. I know American has been around for a long time, but that was fun to read. I've got a set of American slotted aluminums on my convert, as a matter of fact.

As for the woody look, I guess I can see where you're coming from about that, but to be quite honest, woody's have just never done anything for me. I had a '68 Vista Cruiser that came with "woody" decals on the lower sides and accross the tailgate. The first thing I did when I got it home was to rip it all off. And, as long as I'm being honest, Torque Thrusts have never been a favorite of mine either. Ansen Sprints, (Also being produced by American.) on the other hand, I LOVE. Oh well.

How about a woody wagon look with Enzyte or Cialis logos all over it? I'm only surprised it hasn't been done yet...

If you thought the Ron Capps NAPA commercials were bad, just think what they could do with THAT! ;)

Oh, Lord...:( I will become an instant NASCAR fan the day one of those sponsors signs up. Wait..nope, can't go there either; one NASCAR team already has such a sponsor. Don't you love it? Just as you sit down for dinner, there's old Whistling Bob and his jealous pals....

Gimme Capps and NAPA anyday.
