My spies tell me that John Skiba used a "drop" of hydrazine in Dick Lohrs Mustang F/C years ago. Said the engine sound was different at once w weird flame color from the headers. Harry Schmidt in the Blue Max used hydrazine once at OCIR. Wonder if that was the meet where they ran that 6.72 ET. I saw that, & could not believe an F/C was running almost as quick as a T/F car. Hmmmmmm

this came out yesterday. 2025 rulebook amendment updates. anyone have a comment on it?

That will affect nobody. No (500 CI) Pro Stock car has a planetary transmission. They have been gone from the class for well over twenty years. This rule (in my opinion) is simply closing a loophole. Same with the high gear in the trans being 1-1, they already are.

What this does is stop someone with extremely deep pockets from trying to invent something that will end up costing everyone a pile of money.

Would like to see Pro/S with an auto trans... like the 7 speed Pro Mod trans used in 1/8 mile. Maybe 8 or 10 speed.
Which is something I don't understand. Why a 4000hp doorslammer needs a 7 speed to make a mid-3 second pass is beyond the scope of my intelligence. They're making so much power now - some of the outlaw stuff is over 5K hp - they might run better with direct drive.

I don't care if they run Libertys, Lencos, 15-speeds from a Kenworth or a B&M Hydro. I'd just like to see something other than Camaro after Camaro. I like watching the Cuadras race their Mustangs even though they don't run Ford power.

Are you sure? Liberty's website doesn't show a 7-speed?

Not arguing, just asking.

Yours for $22,960. $1800 more for a magnesium case. You'd think the cheap bastuds would throw in a shifter but they're $600.

I'd still like to see one of those 5000hp, 7-speed cars take the transmission out and replace it with a direct drive setup. They might be pleasantly surprised. Most TF and FC teams went direct 50 years ago in the period of 2000hp engines and never looked back.

From what I remember, when the T/F cars went to a direct drive to replace the 2 speed, they didn't work that well, until the clutch mgt systems came out. You could almost make an arguement for the clutch mgt to be a "transmission". I remember when these systems came out, and it did sound like the car was being "shifted". Oh, from what I've read, the idea of a 7 speed trans (or more) is to keep the RPM to the moon as the car goes down the track. More RPM = more HP. I've thought why not change the rules in Pro/S and blown alky engines to allow a trans like that? Just my 2 cents.

I think the next step will be to allow nitro in promod with less blower overdrive and smaller blowers this will increase the entries
