ashley and danica win one week apart...................

only 1 problem, the mainstream media went nuts with danica, i saw a story on danica 2 days in a row last week on nbc nightly news with brian williams, she was on letterman, stories all over the place, espn, cnn, msnbc, ect ect ect ect ect, i havent seen 1 thing or 1 story about ashley on tv yet

Ashley's win was important to the people that care, right? I'd prefer not to be mainstream, thank you.

Stupidest post of the week? There have been a few, but i'll rank this one up here as number one.

Yeah all the teams Ashley raced to make the final tanked it.:rolleyes:

I think that Danica'a win was looked at by the media as more incredible because NO woman had ever won an IRL race before-----ever.
But woman(plural) have won in NHRA before-Shirley won not only races but championships(again plural)in the TOP Class-Top Fuel--and along time ago.So its not really anything totally new for a woman to do good in NHRA.Ashley is the 1st to win in the Nitro Funny Car class but not the 1st to win in a Nitro class.

I was thrilled to see Ashley win.However---I dont think anyone was suprised to see Ashley win----it was only a matter of time

I think it's been mentioned here, but Ashley got a lot of coverage on AOL's homepage this week for her win. And she has been on Leno before. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see a TON more mainstream media coverage for our sport, but as mentioned above, Danica was THE first time female winner in that series, we've had several. Also, Danica had gotten a lot of negative ink for getting so much coverage without actually ever winning, so her finally pulling it off gave her some much-needed credibilty.

So now they are tied on the voting on aol, I think its great to see it tied 50-50, They both are great Girls, Let it be . See ya all in St Louis. Out
