In N' Out Burger and Drag Racing Makes The News

If Lynsi is such a Dragracing fan, and a CEO of a Billion dollar company, why did they pull out of NHRA??

Joe, my understanding was that she just recently ascended to the CEO position at age 30 and will own the whole ball of wax at 35. Maybe once she is in full control, they will get back in.

As a west coast racer, you never look in the other lane and see her or any Torres car and think "this should be easy". Great racers, every one of them.

Darn you---after reading that article and looking at all that food, now I got to find an excuse to go to CA or Vegas to eat.

How about the March Meet? If you come out a Double Double and a Strawberry Shake is on me.

There's an In-and-Out that's walking distance from Valley Head Service. We go there on Mondays.

Man I can't imagine only having In N Out every ten years, is that some kind of Pirate curse or something?

Yea Larry, sure is. It's called living on the east coast and not having the dollars go to the race in Las Vegas every year! It takes about 10 years for us to save up enough dough to go out there for a week. That's why I'd wish "In N' Out" would come east. It is what it is.

My rankings:

1. Five Guys
2. In 'N Out (during Vegas)
3. Steak & Shake (found during Indy)
4. Elevation Burger ($$$ though)
5. Wendy's

I guess this thread turned into a burger discussion... so I have to comment.

Has no one ever tasted a Culver's butter burger? They are a midwest chain I guess so its possible. But DAMN they have all the fast food burgers beat. I don't know what it is, but the meat in the burger is worthy of taking out of the bun and eating like a steak.

Burger king has good flame broiled taste, but don't get a double... more meat isn't better at BK.

McDonalds I think is pretty bad.

Wendy's... I have a long history with Wendy's. I used to live down the street from one back home in Pittsburgh. I remember when they had the old lady's that would clean up after you when you were done, you didn't have to dump it yourself. They had a carpeted dining area. And a salad bar! The burgers were heavenly, and their fries were uniquely different (at the time BK and Macdonalds had identical fries).

Through high school. I was still addicted to their burgers and fries. My brother worked there for a few months, and at that time they phased out the salad bar, but had some pretty good (and large) side salads. At the end of the night, employees got to take home the extra salads, so we had a couple at home every night. You used to get a breadstick with the salads too. So Wendy's as of the mid 90's still top notch.

Then they phased out the salads... they became much smaller, you didn't get a breadstick. I moved to MN... and the nearest Wendy's was a 45 minute drive. I still made the trip occasionally just to get the burger, cause it was still great. Fries were still unique and great.

Then Dave Thomas died. They re-invented the burger... made it thicker... not a good move. I don't know why, they just don't taste good anymore. They re-invented the fries... again not a good move. They built a Wendy's in my MN town... I go there no more then once a month, mainly for the chili as the burgers and fries now suck. Oh how they have fallen.

I never had an in and out burger... I'd definitely check it out if I ever see one. I'm eager to try five guys as I hear their fries are fresh cut.

Anyone remember Roy Rogers and their fix-in's bar for the burgers? It was a salad bar, but it was filled with burger toppings so you could put on whatever you want.

Wow, I've tried Five Guys several times and was not at all impressed. Love In-and-Out, but my favorite is a Seattle area company, BurgerMaster. Mmmmmm...

Hey Andy! Didn't know that "Five Guys" was up in your area.

Yeah, came up this way a couple of years ago! It was startling how much better, for a fast food burger, they were than anything else around. I try hard to eat as little fast food as I can, but when there's a Five Guys on the radar, all bets are off!

Nick! Your moving off the cobwebs of my memory banks when you brought up "Roy Rogers" and their fix-ins bar, they were great. Man that's going back in time.

Hey Andy! I'm with you on that, hard to pass up "Five Guys!" If I get near one at lunch time that's where I'm eating.

Just saw on Huff Post she has to pay $19,000 a month child support on joint custody. That is steep by any standard.
