Corradi to JFR (1 Viewer)

And will Tasca be a sub team of DSR as they do the pipe and if I read correctly the bullet too.
If so what do Ford think about a effectively a Dodge under the hood. No doubt all must be cool.

It's been a "Dodge" in one form or another (Chrysler, Plymouth - any HEMI) under the hood since the 1970s.

I don't know who proof reads these, but something got copied/pasted wrong, or something. This makes no sense.

His career began in 1996 as a clutch specialist for high school friend Dean Parts Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car at JFR with co-crew chief Danny Hood.
Say what?

“I may never get another opportunity to work for John Force and run a Skuza, who like Corradi grew up in the Cleveland area. Run a Skuza ?? How the hell do you run a Skuza ?

I agree Paul! Competition Plus could stand to take another 5 minutes on every one of its articles, because I find mistakes in almost all that I read. This mistake was a little worse than most of their issues.

Paul,

This particular issue happened in the transfer of copy edited article from microsoft word, but has since been fixed. We strive for excellence, but sometimes when you deal as much of a volume of content as we do, sometimes stuff slips by even if you do read it over multiple times.

NHRA has just become to political. I just don't get excited like I used to when the Gatornationals are approaching. It's the dog and pony show....

This might be as confusing as the first post of the Comp Plus article, how can first car to the finish line be political? I did a lot of horse show "competitions" when I was much younger .... that was political and lost my interest. We've been drag racing the NHRA for over a decade, and I'll have to admit I've never for a day thought it was "too political" ..... the winning car always seems to be the one that made the best run every pair. Maybe there is something about the way Alan's "winner picker" works that I'm not privy to.

Jeff,

I'm assuming that you read the other thread. I have no idea what Lynn is talking about but the new win light idea has NOTHING to do with politics at all. Just acknowledging the better run. In Qualifying that's the Low E.T. run.
Alan

Alan,

As you often point out, it's hard to inflect tone when typing. I was trying to admit to Lynn that if the "winner picker" was actually something OTHER THAN a very precise timing measurement system capable of determining the winner given a class' set of rules (e.g. Alan sits up there and says "I don't like that SpiderBite lady, she's gonna lose" and flips a switch) then yes, it is "overly political" .... but, by its very terms, drag racing can't be very political because the same rules apply in the right lane as the left lane.

And regarding the other thread, I talk to a ton of newbies in the pits and your idea will certainly help most. Even, if nothing more than letting em know where to look for the WIN light when they come back on Sunday to have fun, learn some more, and smell the PJ1 and nitro (both of which I sorely miss right now). I think they figure out pretty quickly that qualifying is not a race, so even more clearly identifying the car that did better at that particular phase, makes more sense to me than not. A lot of people just don't like anything that's not absolutely correct no matter how its comprehended.

Don't like the Spider Bite lady? Are you kidding? I'm trying to figure out how to take her car for a ride.....
I'll make it a point to come see you next time we're in the same zip code.
Alan

I was picking on you with a reference I thought you might recall from the Vegas divisional this year. Nickens has got her motor again as we slowly unravel the mysteries of making horsepower with that thing. The SpiderBite wrap has been retired for WhiteNoise. With Houston skipping TD this year I think our first few nationals are Atlanta, Topeka, and Bristol. Always appreciate your work and look forward to the season kicking off again.

To a degree yes. Some, Bristol for example, seem to consistently have both TD and TS. Last year, Houston had TAD, TAFC, & TD (not certain about TS, but I don't think so) .... this year none of those classes are invited. TD and TS consistently have 18 nationals (well consistent since the advent of a national championship). I have not chased down where the Houston spot popped up, but it didn't seem to fall in a week that worked for our racing schedule. We try to run about 16 events a year (and that's really the only times we make it to any racetrack, which is plenty if you average almost 20k miles on the race rig a year). Racing is our vacation..... except that the wife also makes me go on normal vacations.

Getting back to the original topic I wonder what the learning curve will be going from top fuel to funny car for him. Tuners like AJ, who are acknowledged masters tuning the dragsters, have struggled with getting a funny car to run with the same consistency.

Zippy went to DSR, Hood and Corradi will both be with Courtney's car. So who will John's tuner be?

Corradi has funny car experience (and success)

As I recall, Zippy left DSR and went to JFR because he had an opportunity to drive. Now that is not the case, so I wonder if Zippy will get a chance to drive at DSR? Maybe even making test hits just to keep the license active? Or since the chance to drive is presumably off the table, does it just come down to dollars to be a crew chief and who pays the most?
