Perhaps Gary Gerold asked Mike if he wanted to comment and he said no or maybe Mike indicated he didn't want to comment or maybe it's just none of our business what Mike Edwards thought about what happened.

Dave i think Mike did not want to comment because if you look at the replay (which i did 10x's) it looks like Mike was at fault ( and it happens to the best of them).

I do think Rick went on the chip though and Edwards crew guy did not mean to touch him.

but did he thank the lord for it?

Many people attribute success to God, the Lord, etc. when things go well. I know some of you find that annoying, based on comments like this quote. Not knowing Mike personally, but having watched him for many years he has become my favorite PS driver based on how he handles himself. Whether he thanked the Lord on air or not, I'd bet he did thank the Lord for that day, and every other day he lives - as we all should.

Seems to me you are spot on Russ. ;)

I know Roger Stull very well. Roger will tell you he thanks God every day no matter what life brings. Look at the story of Job in the Bible and the things Job went through, yet he remained faithful to God. Losing a round doesn't compare to the things that Job endured. Being a Christian can and does mean no easy road ahead. And anyone who thanks God for the wins needs to also thank Him for the losses. To have the life we have in Christ, and to be able to pursue our dreams is reason enough to be thankful. There's a lot more to it...

For me, my faith is the difference between "living" and "being alive".
If it was just that and no more, it would be enough.

Another +1 to Russ. I'm not annoyed that Mike Edwards shares his beliefs on the air. The guy is pretty awesome and a hero to many...............

NHRA Story » Reaching out to Young Life kids, not championship chase, Edwards' biggest priority

My intention was not to start an "us vs. them" discussion, only to point out that Mike Edwards backs up his faith with actions, as the link shared by Lance points to.
For many, religion is something you wear and it changes constantly, and is sometimes unflattering...and may turn others off completely.
For others, like Mike Edwards and many people on this forum, it is something far deeper and has changed us at the very core - but has not made us immune to making mistakes.
This is a racing forum - but sometimes these threads take some twists and turns which can lead to interesting discussion.

Very well put........................

For the record Randy, I don't find it annoying in the least. Each to his own in regard to their beliefs.
never mind, I erased the rest of my sermon. Apparently my sense of humor didn't go well with the rest of the congregation.;)

I certainly don't find it annoying. It's not the way I roll, but if you stick a mike in someone's face and ask them how they did it, you need to be prepared to accept whatever they say be that with the help of Christ, Allah, their wives/family, lots of practice, or a good fiber cereal for breakfast.

I'd love to hear the rest of your sermon :D.

Nothing like a good fiber cereal - bring on the colon blow, just not on air!

Bob,
You knew since it was either religion or politics you would get an earful. I caught your humor and yet I love Mike Edwards' relationship with Diety. I'm as religious as anyone I know but I'm still human. I kinda wanted Allen to actually clock Rick to show him the difference between bumping hands and hitting. I am getting better every day and suspect the day will come when I won't want to see that. :):):)

Bobby you know me well. Someone has to derail the dead horse once in awhile. Just once I would like someone to be honest after losing and say.................Hey God.......what happened there? I would bust up. and I did capitalize Lord in my first installment on this thread. :D
Life is too short, we all have to answer to the Higher Power at some point. I would just like Him (Her...don't want to offend anyone else in the congregation) to say to me when the time comes, "had enough fun yet wiseass?":D
ok, back to the ARMLS web site for me;)

With all the multiple replays of TP and Force maybe the "Rickster" thought he could turn this into air time and become some sort of .....something.

There will never be another Buster and for all the folks that don't know who he was, that is very sad. The sport could really use him now.
