Huge manufacturing plant has its production machine go down. No one at the site can fix it for several days so they call the Consultant.
Consultant shows up, looks around the machine, walks to one spot and draws an "X" with a piece of chalk. He then says, "Hit it right here with a hammer." The company's mechanic hits the machine with a hammer.
The machine roars back to life and, amongst handshaking is ushered out the door.
Consultant sends bill for $10,000.
Manufacturer calls consultant, irate, that Consultant just tapped machine with a small hammer and they are not paying unless it's itemized.
