Are there any other remaining events with only 3 Nitro qualifiers? I’m curious to see Friday’s attendance.
Although Seattle is running four sessions, there is only one nighttime session Friday night, then three nitro qualifying sessions on Saturday.

Saturday, July 19

  • 12:30 p.m. - Top Fuel and Funny Car Qualifying Sessions
  • 2:45 p.m. - Top Fuel Qualifying Session and Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge - Round 1

I saw that Hunter Green is driving instead of Blake Alexander this weekend. NHRA.com says “Blake was unable to drive as scheduled.” Wonder what that is about?
I recall reading recently that they are sharing this ride during the season. Evidently neither has enough sponsor $$ to pay for the full year of racing.

I'm pretty sure I heard on NHRA TV, that Blake wasn't feeling good?

I just had to turn the sound down on NHRA.TV because of the ridiculous screaming by Al Tucci. ProMod is such an awesome class. Yesterday when Brian was in the booth it was better. Please stop the screaming hype stuff. Entertaining first round in the Pro Classes.
That hurts getting a fork stuck in me so early for PTW.

That’s why I won’t go to a race in summer with no night racing. They even have three nitro sessions Saturday but the latest is late afternoon when it’ll still be 90 degrees and hardly anyone making a full pull. Yep, grumpy in my old age.
I hear ya, and it's not just old age. 20-odd years ago I made the mistake of going to the Texas Motorplex for Friday qualifying (the event was in September then) when the ambient temperature was 104 degrees. Half the Pro Stocks in R1 could have qualified for Top Fuel. It was that bad. Never again.

Of note - a couple of weeks ago I mentioned my preference for a 2-hour Fox show instead of 3 hours with a ton of filler. Well, that's what we had today - did you like it? And one more thing - did you know tuners have coaxed an additional 1000hp from supercharged nitro engines? That's what Fox says. It was 10000hp for years, then 11000 and today I see it's 12000. Wow; at that rate they'll all be running 3.50s before the world finals.

On Fox, Tasca mentioned something about Kenny Koretsky needing prayers, I got the impression that he is perhaps seriously ill. Hope it is nothing too serious.

Can't confirm but I've seen a couple of reports of a serious accident last weekend.

Could it be this accident? From his Facebook page dated 6 hours ago. The article itself is undated so I can't confirm.

That link above appears to be poisoned, just FYI. It’s redirecting to an illicit website.
