I think if I was around it all the time, I'd wear one, that's for sure! I'd also go for the full face respirator, it's 5 times as effective as a half mask.

The problem with a full mask style is that it would interfere with trying to hold the viewfinder up to my eye. I don't need a ton of protection, just something to knock it down some. Normally I just pull my tshirt up over my mouth and nose if it gets too strong but a couple of times last year even that wasn't enough from where I was photographing.

My interest in standing close during a warmup went from gas mask lovin fool to zilch once teams stopped whackin the throttle during warmups.

I spoke with JFR the other day on the phone and the filter they use is part #6002, acid gas cartridge. 3M also recommends the same thing. I just bought a 3M 6200 mask and the cartridges are on the way.
