In all seriousness, the only thing I can think would be one of the “biggest announcements in NHRA history “ would be that they are leaving California like a lot of people have. In and Out Burger is gaining in places so if there isn’t one in Indy yet that’s coming too.

what would be really cool to see is some sort team organization, much like F1, where you know that X amount of cars will show up at every race,
and all the 'teams' have a stake in the organization (nhra) .......not necessarily equal amounts of money for everyone, but again, much like F1, there
are portions of the money that are shared, so there is financial incentive for every team.

I wondering if it's a move to the Fox network or another broadcast partner. Nascar's 2025 contract has 14 races with Fox and IIRC only four on the main network. All the other ones on FS1. When I heard about that I got concerned for NHRA. If they were to swap them over to the big network it would probably be good. NBC gets the end of the year for Nascar so that frees up FS1 to cover NHRA during football season. Just a guess.

i remember years ago, a similar report of a major announcement was forthcoming and it turned out the big news was NHRA was about to celebrate it's 500th race or something like that. . . . . . Talk about a big Let down!

I remember the huge announcement that got everybody excited, all it was aaa sponsoring pomona

Doing away with ALL class racing and switching to Bracket Racing
Then a car in Stock can race against T/F or P/S.😅😂

Honestly, an all out bracket no throttle stop class for comp on down would be fun.
Indy a few years ago there was a slow 16 second ish car going rounds and the people were loving it watching these huge handicap starts.

Would also ease the rules, run whatever, have this safety equipment and go race.

Leah Pruett stepping out of the seat to start a family. Tony Stewart to fill in for her in 2024.

Big F-in deal...Yawn

Agreed. Interesting news, but everyone could see Leah having a kid soon with Tony. No surprise there at all. Not expected that he would replace her in the seat, but still not even close to "One of the Biggest Announcements in NHRA History". Typical Social Media hype. A big let-down as predicted.

Tony is 52. He'll be 70 when the kid graduates high school. I guess lots of people have families late in life these days.

I understand NHRA hyping it up because this will get major attention and will for sure get new people checking it out
