Like I've said Kevin, Real Name or Not, I've always tried not to get Personal in my post... as a teenager running around the pits at both The County and The Beach, I heard things and saw things which shaped how I feel about some of the Grand old men (and Ladies) of This Thing.

I do believe that it was 'Ma' who 'dressed me down' one evening at the track for smoking... about a year or so before I made my first pass one Wednesday night... and yes, it seems nowadays, I just see her post about Team Morgan...

The Hartley post I did see, again, but did not have any thing constructive to say or add... and I do get tired of reading, 'oh that's great'...

But, one Pet Peeve are the "it's been one year ago today", I don't want to sound cold, but I lost someone I cared about for almost every day of the year.

I don't think the real names has much to do with the perceived demise of the Mater. If that were the case, everyone would migrate to other boards (CompPlus?) and flame away to their anonymous heart's content, which simply hasn't been the case. The other boards do not get as many posts as this one.

(except YellowBullett ... but that is more geared to a specific set of racers rather than fans and they encourage the mudslinging rather than moderate it)

So what is the cause? Is the Mater boring? Is it over-moderated? Have we just become downright civil? Are people over message boards and have moved on to other things like Facebook and Twitter?

First, I will tell you one thing.....for me, a big part is the fact that my company has really, really cracked down on internet usage. It used to be that they didn't care as long as you got your job done, but ever since we became 'public' they tightened the reigns.

Secondly, now that I have gotten my new Blackberry, I've been checking throughout the day and will occassionally post.

Lastly.......DANG! We all really, really do have real lives! Imagine that!

Maybe I'm not finished.....yes, facebook is nice. And maybe some of us have become such good friends that we email and text. I can honestly say that I will never leave though. Try as you might! lol

As far as message boards go Nitronic Research was a great board. This one.....not so much. The problem is it is just the same 20 or 30 people posting the same thing over and over or pasting links to stories on other websites.

Half of you keyboard crewchiefs need to get a whiff of some 98% and learn what you are talking about then maybe it would get better.

Any time you are willing to teach me what I should be talking about, I am willing to listen.

As a general rule, when someone posts incorrect information, no matter how esoteric or technical, if that information is not correct, there is a line around the block of "people who really know what is going on" willing to correct that person's post. As such, I have learned a thing or two in my time posting here.
