Any time you are willing to teach me what I should be talking about, I am willing to listen.

As a general rule, when someone posts incorrect information, no matter how esoteric or technical, if that information is not correct, there is a line around the block of "people who really know what is going on" willing to correct that person's post. As such, I have learned a thing or two in my time posting here. :)

Hi Chris

That is great that you learned some things and admit that someone might know more than you. That is how I learned the sport also. It just irks me when people just chime in with no clue about the topic or just hijack something that you and I might learn something from to conduct "Buddy Chats" in the middle of a post.

I used to enjoy the old Mater and in the beginning I enjoyed this one but I have to agree with the start of the post that this version of the Mater is getting stale. I offer no fixes or suggestions on what or how to fix it I am just voicing my opinion to this post's topic.

cmon Joe, it`s like i keep tellin my women,(i mean woman), i hit the wrong key. it`s quality, not quanity. I`m new here, but i think the quality is outstanding. But, i would think the board would slow way down, with summer coming on. I think it`s coming.

So I didn't really kill the board? Up 22%? Must be because we post real names!

Jim

Some people have stones and some just have brown spots in their shorts. you got boulders and a lot of respect from those of us who know what you've done for the sport and the country in general.

All I know is that through drag racing message boards I have met a fantastic bunch of people....and for that I am thankful. The Mater is a source of entertainment, enlightenment, and a way to keep in contact with friends. Sure I don't post as much as I have in the past, but I sure try to read every post. Message boards go through changes, and I know that firsthand, but the core is still here, reading and getting a smile from it.

As far as message boards go Nitronic Research was a great board.

Nitronic Research's "Header Flames" certainly had its moments.

Funny, I was digging around my garage the other day, looking for pictures to scan, and I found a whole of box of immaculate Nitronic Research stickers.

This board is not near as much fun as it use to be. Sure there were some bad threads/posts that the mods could have cleaned up. The pretense was with some of the bashing, the "pro's" were not coming here. Well, how long has it been since the real name change? I still haven't seen a lot of "pro's" coming here. I think it's very boring now but will continue to post but not as much. I think some of the members here use it for a chat room instead of a message board. I have been here since the very beginning and it was mostly a nitro board. When I started posting about P/S,I was told to go away, nobody here cared about P/S. It has changed tho, P/S is accepted and rightly so but it's still not what it use to be. If I wanted a love fest,I'd go kiss my granddaughter.

Hi Cole

Any chance of letting me buy a few of those? They will go great with my original Nitronic T-Shirt!

I have not been responding for a while now because of the fact that sometimes posts can get out of hand. Believe me, there have been many topics that I would love to respond to, but I don't anymore.

Sometimes, it doesn't matter what you say, even when you have the facts and permission to comment on the subject, it still makes no difference in clarifying what is fact and what is fiction. That gets old REALLY fast. When rumors are going around, the story always gets twisted and bad information is put out there and it makes it hard to get the truth across.

I understand COMPLETELY why the pros don't post on here. For the most part, everyone has been very nice. Then you have the ones that are dead set on their opinion and it can stink things up pretty quickly.

Sponsors (potential or existing) do read these message boards. It is probably in the teams best interest if they refrain from getting involved in "Message Board Politics". No one wants to be called to the Principal's office for any reason! You have to answer to your sponsors......PERIOD!

I am thankful for the ones that come on here and defend themselves. Sometimes you have to do that, but it sure is a pain in the butt that you HAVE to!

Opinions are a right that we all enjoy! I have my passions and you have yours. Drag Racing is very competitive and that same competitiveness is also in each teams fans!

The one thing that I make my mantra in life is to try to make friends with everyone that I can! I learn so much from everyone I meet. It is the way I can leave my lasting mark on this ONE LIFE that I am blessed to have.

So, take that! Heeehehe! I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and GO TEAM KALITTA!!! You know I had to say that!!! :D

Sorry Alan!!! I am one of the "Queens" of derailing!!! I guess some people don't like that! I just had to post! Again, Sorry!

Well, big mouth that I am, I can't resist saying SOMETHING, as both a newcomer to this board and a veteran of Internet drag racing BB's in general.

Been here less than a year, I believe... Haven't noticed any decline in postings, but then as a newcomer, I probably wouldn't.

I don't know what I expected, but I have been ambivalent about my personal assessment of this BB with regard to its content.

Dunno why, but I think I expected a site that was more heavily-weighted with technical information and with discussions of the nuts and bolts of drag racing as it involves Fuel racing (that's the "NITRO" part.) My mistake.

For sure, there are people on this BB who are definitely qualified to discuss that material at length. I expected threads, for example, on the mechanical changes effected by the switch to a 1,000-foot tuneup, discussions on how to deal with reducing the comparatively lengthy reaction times associated with the clutch systems in use in Fuel cars, and perhaps, some intelligent questions and answers regarding the unnecessarily restrictive rules that prevent any real technological progress with regard to changes to Fuel motors.

That subject matter is ripe for discussion, but I haven't seen any.

There exists a dearth of technical discussion on here that is replaced, if you will, by peoples' comments about drivers, crew members, and their personal issues ("Angele's crying, again"), and myriad other non-technical discussions about sponsorships, travel expenses, NHRA's travails, and just about anything that DOESN'T have to with the wrench-twisting that is part and parcel of actually running a car.

Some of it is fascinating, for sure, but I find my racer-self asking, "WHERE'S THE BEEF"????

I've never run a Fuel car, and am woefully ignorant about the vagaries of a Fuel motor and was hopeful that I could pick up some useful information, if only to feed my all-too-active imagination.

Not gonna happen...

Case in point: I tried suggesting an alternative to the current Nitro scenario that (in my humble opinion) has become just too expensive in several different ways, to survive, and as (I) expected, was regarded as somebody from another planet, even though ~I~ thought I'd offered a viable alternative to this $$$$$$$$ system we have, now. To say that my ideas were discarded with the evening's fish-wrap would be to embody them with a dignity they didn't enjoy... LOL! Oh well... it wasn't unexpected from a bunch of narrowcast folks on a board whose first name is NITRO... LOL!

At least, they didn't remove my posts...

I will hang around and continue to glean the "soft news" content of this site, because there's a lot of interesting information posted here; it's just not the hard-core, crew-chiefs-swapping-ideas-and-information I thought it might be.

Thanks for letting me monitor and post here, occasionally. I appreciate it!

Bill;
It seems that years ago when this board first started, they were going to have an area for racers, crew people and industry people. It was to be password protected, etc. Then we never heard anything more about it.

Classic funnycars and header Flames are very technical with drivers and car owners posting. However, they only talk about the older stuff. If there is a technical board for big show nitro stuff, I haven't found it.

You know it's ironic that a thread like this brings people in that haven't posted in over a month??? It's obvious some of the regulars in the past don't frequent here much anymore.

Suzie is right, pros and sponsors do look and know what is going on here. I know I've been contacted by both aspects abouy comments I have made here (and yes it was all positive:D)

Yep, that is true. And because of certain members, some with stupidly big heads, also some mods who will move threads around, and a few other things, really put me off posting here. Only reason why I still check in on here, is to PM a buddy, and look at some of the great photography posted on here. This forum did lose it's vibe, because I sure haven't lost my love for Drag Racing.

I was one who used to visit often but the post' have become predictable and not very entertaining.
How long do you stand around the water cooler w/ everyone agreeing about any situation---not long. But if someone starts to make a point or has a different opinion you stick around and hash it out---which makes the day a little more entertaining.
This place has become pretty bland IMO...Most here will not post their real feelings or thoughts and kiss up to the DSR's or anyone who has tightened a spark plug on a fuel engine.
Most people who goes against the grain are entertaining and think outside the box---at least when they voice their concerns outloud.
