Wow, I haven't seen this much debate on one subject in awhile around here. Keep it up.

Yeah, and for once it is not between us!! I just completed 2 years of law classes and have a lot of practice at debating so bring it on................................ haha

I originally had no problem with it until I heard my daughter's reaction. Then I thought back over the last several years to the general attitude to her in this sport. Is she welcomed as a competitor? You bet, and being pretty good at it doesn't hurt. I think she's won some respect. From that aspect it's OK.

And yet, she gets more than a few stupid remarks literally every weekend we're out racing. From the "whoa, she's the driver?!" remarks in the staging lanes, to the ridiculously clumsy hits on her, to the ribbing all the guys give each other when they get "beat by a girl". Most of that stuff she just brushes off.

But pretty much every weekend there's one or more that just cross the line. Over the top in some way or another. Crude, or downright creepy. Almost like something you'd hear if you were in the wrong bar past midnight.

And that's her point. This just doesn't help that. This may say to some that that kind of stuff is still OK. And it's not.

I haven't seen the issue yet, but if she's not really naked, what's the big deal? If Force had a son who raced, and was a fitness buff who killed it in the gym, would people be negative about him doing the shoot? I don't see this as any kind of "setback" for women in racing. Matter of fact, the only barrier to entry for gals nowadays is money, just like guys. On that note did anyone think women were being objectified by being given seats in hopes of attracting more sponsors? Am I wrong or did that seem to be going on for quite awhile? I think Courtney's doing a great job, in and out of the car, and I don't see this hurting her one bit.

My next door neighbor is married to a Japanese lady. They laugh all the time about how uptight Americans are with nudity.

Actually, they (people from other countries) laugh at us for so many reasons, especially our ability to lead the world in something, yet have the tightest restrictions applied (morally, ethically etc). We lead the world in pornography, yet we cling to our 1950's façade. We can't get enough of Good Morning America Betty Crocker wholesome goodness, but these same networks come up with shows like "Desperate Housewives" and "Toddlers and Tiaras" or worse "Dance Moms", and they're the most popular. We're the most powerful, weaponized contradiction on Earth. I would laugh at us too, but I can't, I'm busy searching for nekkie photos as I talk about how wrong searching for nekkie photos is.

As for Courtney, I like the pics. There is no move made by anyone at JFR without it being thoroughly washed thru the PR machine, I am also sure sponsors were consulted ahead of time. Besides, you can see girls in Traxxas colors wearing less than Courtney at the track every weekend. You never see the Traxxas girls working the remotes ... They are always bending over to pick up the cars. I guess I took the long road to say Traxxas has a marketing strategy and Courtney's pics fall right in line, if Courtney is OK with it then that is good enough for me.

I'm kinda on the fence about it. Her call-her livelyhood-her nerves she had to get over to do it. Its not like she had to do something like this to get herself into a seat-or further her career.
I suppose it comes down to :do you think of her as a funny car driver that happens to be cute-or some cute girl that drives a funny car?
One thing for sure-I bet she'll be autographing that issue for years to come!

I,too, think it was done in good taste. My wife even commented that Courtney is pretty and has a shapely body. NOW, as far as what went on behind the scenes in order to make all this happen is anyone's guess. we could argue this point till we are"blue" in the face and may never know. The fact remains she did it and the magazine will be out this Friday for everyone to see the pictures. So, this may be an unsolved issue for a long time. She got her family's approval and that all she needed.

Well I have always lived by the rule that if I don't want to look at something or hear about it.. Call me Crazy- But I just change the channel. NHRA Drag Racing is far from "conservative!" If anything it's very Liberal! All one has to do is take a stroll down Manufactures Midway and you will get an Eye-Full. Whether it's the TRAXXAS Girls, the NHRA Mello Yello Girls, The Harley Davidson Chaps Clad Girls... Well I could go on but I go on but i'd rather not.

I am actually very PROUD of Courtney Force!

After attending the last 2 NHRA Mello Yello National events (Joliet & Norwalk) and seeing a lot of EMPTY seats. Maybe this is what NHRA needs to get those seats filled again!!!!
