I'm usually pretty shy and reserved on here, but I think it was done pretty classy and I am going to buy a copy...and if anyone has a problem with that, then they can just kiss my big 305 pound azz.:)

I might just buy a copy as well..... too bad you have to sift through some dudes to get to her and the other females.

Just a heads up to the people bashing her, please remember that papa John did the body issue a couple of years ago.

What I am getting at is that I mentioned a few different female racers and you choose two specific people and said YOU WOULD GUESS that they WOULDN'T have a problem with it. So, again...what would make you guess in that direction? What do you GUESS the other women I mentioned would think? I'm not putting words in anyone's mouth...I'm asking that you explain your guess.

The reason I mentioned those two specifically is because I have seen photo shoots of them that some might consider too much. In Alexis' case I did not see any negative comments but in Angie's situation I did and she spoke up and defended herself. I didn't see a problem with either one of those as well. Do you feel better now that I explained myself, as you put it?

Oh please. The body issue isn't some skin flick/mag or the like.

Sorry, but I expect to hear/read a comment like that from a woman who is "well fed," bitter and jealous....

Samuel, I'm "well fed" but not bitter or jealous!!! I think she looks beautiful and has a great body!!

Outside of the photographer and crew who saw everything, you really dont see any more than you would with her in a bikini at the beach.

Or the ones who are screaming "it's a family sport", it's showing no more than the hot lil' Traxxas girls at the track!!!! ;) I saw more boobs and ass on those girls then I see with Courtney's pictures!!

The Body Issue is NOT the same as the SI Swimsuit Edition. SI's is all about sex, with some unknown connection to sport. The Body Issue is a celebration of the athletes and the incredible bodies that make up a range of sports.

You may recall that John Force posed nude for it ("The Body You Don't Want") a couple of years ago after his Dallas accident. It is a very respectable and well done issue with only a wisp of sexuality. It is considered by many respected athletes to be an honor.

But, my daughter the racer, is absolutely livid over this. She feels that women in motorsports have worked really, really hard to shake the Cha Cha thing -- to just be respected as good drivers. This, to her, is a setback and doesn't help one bit.

Bingo...As I mentioned in my earlier post. Ask the women who have been CHAMPIONS if they would do this? Shirley and Angele would not....that is what I'm saying. If you want to be the BEST racer (regardless of sex) then you want to go out and win and be the most successful racer you can be. If you want to stand out and sell yourself for every angle you can play, then you are not the best RACER; you are a marketing tool.

Horse is dead...I'm moving on.

Were either of those photo shoots tied to the NHRA/ESPN and their racing careers? If so, I must of missed them, which is just fine also.

It has nothing to do with "feeling better"....just trying to figure where your head is....I think I got that figured out.

Exactly!

This is a celebration of sport and fitness - in the Grecian urn 'kinda way - not some provocative cheesecake deal.
There's (IMHO) NOTHING tawdry or particularly sexual about it. That said, finding poor Courtney 'broke down (in her classic Mustang) and nude COULD be a wild fantasy. :)

This is the kind of magazine you could leave on the coffee table (Both sexes might appreciate it.

My next door neighbor is married to a Japanese lady. They laugh all the time about how uptight Americans are with nudity. Best I remember one of our sports funny car teams was sponsored by a magazine who featured models with their legs so wide open you could see their tonsils. Courtney would probabaly catch a lot of flak back in the "old days", but I doubt any of her fellow competitors would give it much of a thought. I agree with some of the prevoius posters that this issue celebrates the athletic form both male and female. I guess put me in the classy column. And hey, if the Force bashers weren't bashing this, it would be something else.:D

Wow, I haven't seen this much debate on one subject in awhile around here. Keep it up. :D

Oh really? And please tell me where you think my head is? I so want to hear that!!! :D The one of Alexis was in her firesuit so I would say it had to do with racing/promoting her sponsor. Now don't get me wrong, it was nothing close to what Courtney did but to some it may seem "going too far" and like I said no one said anything negative, that I saw anyway. Angie's was a professional photo shoot but I don't think it was about racing. Someone made a smart ass comment about where was Matt and just implying things and she set them straight pretty quickly. So, my comment was based on what I have seen them post on Facebook and what people were saying about it. So, please tell me where you think my head is??

For the record...I have no issue with T&A in another context. When it is a woman that is a professional athlete and they want to be taken seriously, I don't think they should go this route. Courtney can run up and down the track naked if she wants...I won't take her seriously. Her dad being John Force may or may not add to that, but I am not a Force fan or hater...I'm neutral on that front. Just seems like milking the cow at all ends. She is female and she is a "Force".... If John had a son, would he pose naked for more exposure?
