A lot of really good ones mentioned already. I'll add "Pipe Rack". Reminds me of the TF cars back in the 60's.

Totally hijacking the thread, it's not a term and it's from Sprint cars - but it still applies.

Danny Lasoski's dad's tuning procedure: "Pull a spark plug. If you've still got the top thread you're too rich. If you lost the second one down you're too lean."

Another one for sportsmen racers who play the qualifying ladder to their advantage on race days:

Sandbagger!

Not that we would know anything about that!

Another Dunn favorite is "that was just a good ol' drag race"

Oh and don't forget Marty "the worst announcer ever" Reid "went turtle"

The late, great Steve Evens and "Fabulous Floppers" (funny cars)

and from the bracket racing world "Taters" for times you slapped the throttle at the end to shave your margin of vicotry "dropped three taters on him...."

"taters" or "Womped the Throttle" are two of my favorites...

so are:
- taking the stripe
- all kinds of sideways
- the big end
- the money round
- the Wally
- "Breakout"
- 'true MOV'
- a 'package'
- BURNOUT
- tire shake
- "the red tomato" - compliments of Tony Bartone
- FLOPPER
- Digger
- Rail
- Leaker
- pipe-rack (compliments of Karl)
- gas-flopper (see above)
- Pro Mod
- hair-dryer / blow-dryer (for a blown alcohol car)
...and of course.. who here could forget....

"THE KEYBOARD CREW CHIEF"

One I've used a few times to describe a red light start: Premature Acceleration ;)

The lamest is "it's a pedalfest" .......especially when Mr. Lame himself (PP) says it about 5 times in a row with his "excited" voice:rolleyes:

And we can't forget...

The Beach
The County
The 'Dale
The Patch
&
the Parking Lot

let me see if this translation is correct....

The Beach = LIONS
The County = OCIR
The 'Dale = Irwindale
The Patch= Bakersfield
the Parking Lot = Pomona

One more from my Dad....

"Sliding the hydes" - spinning the tires....
