RIP Paul Candies

Paul was a true professional on and off the drag strip. He was instrumental in our sport plus with the drivers he had. Leonard Hughes, Leroy Goldstein, Richard Tharp, Mark Oswald.. RIP Paul..Our prayers go out to the entire Candies family.

.....and least we forget the last driver for C&H, "240 Gordie" in the Smokin' Joes car.

Thank you for all you did Paul. I have many memories that I will cherish over the years.

I have an old friend in La, in a similar business as Paul Candies, and he knew him well. He sent me this Obituary information just now.

PAUL CANDIES OBITUARY INFORMATION
Paul B. Candies, 72, died July 21, 2013, life long resident of Des Allemands, LA. Visitation from 1PM until Memorial Service time at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Life Center Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Memorial Services will be at 4PM Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rita Daigle Candies; sons, Paul B. “PB” Candies, II and wife Anne Hymel Candies and Brett M. Candies and wife Kimberly Revels Candies; brothers, Otto B. Candies, Jr. and Kevin S. Candies; grandchildren, Devin, Cade and Mary Frances Candies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto B. Candies and Agnes Hatty Candies.

In lieu of flowers the family request instead donations to NSU Foundation/John Folse Culinary Institute P.O. Box 2074, Thibodaux, LA 70310, E.D. White Catholic High School Band 555 Cardinal Drive, Thibodaux, LA 70301, NOCCA Institute (New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts) 2800 Chartres St., New Orleans, LA 70117 and Racers for Christ P.O. Box 1208, Gilbert, AZ 85299 . Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 
I did some business with Mr. Candies sometime back and I honestly think he gave me the work because he knew I was a big big fan of him and the race team. He was very very nice to me. Prayers for his family. I am sure they will miss such a nice man.
 
I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr Candies, but I did always admire his race team and saw him many times at the races. He appeared to be both a very friendly and classy individual. God speed sir, and prayers for your family.
