My thoughts are with the Medlen family and all of Eric Medlen's friends and family today. We miss you... RIP :(

Actually the thing that comes to mind when I think of him was one of the episodes of "Driving Force" (I think it was the last one) where all the drivers went to the spa/retreat and there's Eric floating in the pool being cradled by one of the other guys. That one was priceless! Wish I could remember who it was but I'm thinking it was Coil...

Godspeed Eric - thanks for the great memories.

I am glad that I have an 8x10 professional picture of Eric hanging here in my office. I am looking at it as I type this message. Eric Medlen was one of "Good Guys!" "Only God Knows Why" he took Eric up to Heaven to be in his Kingdom. I look forward to the day when I too will see Eric in Heaven and has some Ice Cream with him!! God Speed Eric Medlen 1973-2007!!!

3 years has flown by ... but it doesn't make me miss him any less.

Keeping John Medlen in my thoughts today.

1 scoop of Rocky Road for me.

Roughly 4 years ago, in the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, I was *****ing and moaning to Eric about not being able to find a sponsor for my racing aspirations. He said...."I bet you don't have the hair on your peaches to get that girls phone number over there"..(as he pointed to a hot red head playing video poker).

Being slightly intoxicated, I took him up on that offer and she eventually joined us and promptly starting to flirt with Eric... :( When she left I told Eric... "Dude you suck... you totally C#$K blocked me..." he said, "DID YOU have the balls to go pick her up?" I said sure... he said, "your good at this marketing stuff and your smooth for an ugly guy. I BET YOU DON'T HAVE THE BALLS to find a sponsor..."

That's when the idea for THIS began.

14 clients, 3 of them fully funded for this season and several others in negotiations, three partners and I thank you for daring me to do it Medlen!

Thanks Eric,

You are missed....

Eric was right about 1 thing ... you sure are ugly. ZING!

Just couldn't resist ... first rounds on me if you make it to Vegas 1.

Eric sure did touch alot of people's lives. I agree with Suzanne, he was 1 in a million. I miss him everyday!!!!!!:(

The first day Eric was at Hawleys, I had just strapped him in the Alcohol Funny Car for the first time, and had just completed the "Blindfold" cockpit orientation test. Unlike most people that I experienced at the school in 6 years, he was pretty calm and collected. He waved me over close, looked me straight in the eye, and said - "Denny, you think I can do this?" I replied - "I don't know,
ya think I could ride a Bull?"..
Minutes later, up on the starting pad a G-Ville, I was giving him final instructions before hittin the starter - "Foot off the gas, clutch pedal on the stop, brake on hard".. He looked me in the eye again, and said with a little anxiety - "What do ya think?" I said - "Let's see how bad ya want it"..
I hit the starter button, and just before I "Pulled the wire", I said pretty loudly -
"Let's see what ya got, Cowboy".. I swear, I could HEAR the big smile on his face..
He did everything pretty much "Textbook", and was one of the best students we ever had..
I was in my shop at home working, the day the news came down from a friend of mine that works at Shands, that he had passed. To this day, whenever I'm in there, I always spend a moment or two, thinking about Eric, and what a great person he was...
Speaking from the Heart - "We All Miss Ya, Cowboy"....
