Today will be a hard day for the Medlen family. I lost my Dad less than a year ago and I can still feel the sadness that I felt on the day of his funeral. Even though I do not know John Medlen he seems to be a genuinely nice person who is down to earth. For this reason I have always pulled for his driver. When Eric was announced as the new driver, I was very excited and quickly became not only a John Medlen fan, but an Eric Medlen fan as well. As I remembered the Medlen family in my morning prayers today I also thought of how proud John must be of his son. With thoughts of Eric in mind, I dusted off my Hot Rod, and made my morning commute to work. Pulling out onto the road in the cool morning air, I said another quick prayer for John and family, and then I smiled as I romped the loud pedal on my big block hot rod……
