The "MATER".....Is comprised of three types of Members;

1) Those who post daily, who have an opinion about everything in the world, and are members of Bob's N.K.B.C.C.'s (did I get that right..National Keyboard Crew Cheif's?) They are very LOYAL Drag Racing fans, who have their Favorite Drivers and Classes and will defend them to the BONE...Even if their favorite is a Cry Baby, No Class havin Bonehead....(not pointing fingers here!) They Also refur to this place as a "HOME"..."the MATER!"

2) Those who sign on once in a while, Read every topic, and will post when the mood strikes them, or something absolutly PISSES THEM OFF! Most of these "MATERS" are heavily Involved in Drag Racing in one way or the other..

3) Those who are members and WATCH and OBSERVE the debate, Mud Slingin', Petty Arguement's, and Unbelievable "well I heard from a guy" Rumors. Most of these people could provide some great insite to our forum, but choose to watch and not get involved.

The point is this, This place is a Good Place to have discussion about Drag Racing in General. It is also a good place to meet people with the same "PASSION" as you have. And Yes, "MATERS" are passionate people about drag racing. Why else would you have invested that hard earned $1.00 to have the HONOR to post here????

Mike, If you feel that it's gettin crappy...then enjoy your winter vacation, get plenty of sunshine, drink lot's of OJ and we will see you back in February...BECAUSE I'M BETTIN YOU CAN'T STAY AWAY!!!!! It's part of you...You are a simbiant with the mater!!! Accept it!!!! I HAVE!!

Since I qualify mostly in category #1 will I be required to relinquish my two Funny Cars and two dragsters and stop racing all together? Oh, and my favorite driver IS, IN FACT, better than your favorite driver.

not sure if you are still around, but

AJ won the golf tournament the same way he won the finals last year.
His group was behind on the 17th hole. Then on the 18th hole, he eagled as well as someone else in his group. They won by....you guessed it.....
1 stroke!

The Oberhoffer brothers (and the other 2 in their foursome) won (again :p ) the "duffer" award. The duffer honor goes to the group that finishes in last place.

Hopefully next year you can be here and we can de-throne the O brothers for the duffer award!:D
 
Let's face it, with the state of racing these days there just isn't a lot of quality good news out there right now. Like one e-zine has under " breaking news " Koretsky-Allen crash on History Channel! It gets old for some of us just talikng about drivers and loyalty. I am more into the personalities and politics of it all anyway and nobody is talking about that since it causes too much of a stir.
Too bad, I suppose. There is always Yellow Bullet for that.
 
Michael...Yes this place has become BORING w/ the usual suspects praising their favorite driver or saying 'get well' to whoever or voting for their favorite driver.... and very few participants saying what they really are thinking........And trust me on the participant part....

Check out HeaderFlames or Classic Funny Cars and you'll see real nitro racers speaking their minds w/ little political correctness....Ask Virgil....

BTW Michael stop by Pomona 08 and say Hi (lunch)....I am w/ Jerry and Dale again until June 08...

No Dr. Miller,...you most definatly do not have to RELINQUISH YOUR TWO FUNNY CARS AND TWO DRAGSTERS at all....Just share the love with a Brotha from Colorado(Insert Subtle Hint ;) here!), to help the DOC with his "BURDEN" of having to run all those cars, and so that you may be able to spend more time developing that MATERCRED...(you know I'm here to help out)!!!

Oh, and as for the "MYTH" that your favorite driver is better than mine...Well...My Favorite Driver could most likely beat up your favorite driver...(He'd just need a stool to help him whoooppp a little A$$$!!!!):eek: Oh Snap!

I don't get it..you bash this place but continue to contaminate it..:rolleyes:
 
First of all, I love pretty much everyone of you, well 98% ;) I've loved everyone I've met in person off here, and want to meet a lot more of you in person, especially you Suzie I will then bug you all meeting doing John Madden impersonations which I learnt from playing Madden on the Sega as a kid :p

Bottom line is, for the last couple of weeks, the threads seem all the same, and PJ and Ron, love you guys, but no one is listening to your smartness besides me and a few others, and I was about to blow my lid, but thought stuff it I'll let you battle for me. But the countdown, the putting down of drivers. owners, Force talk, 3 threads on Matt Smith etc, waking up to the same ol every morning really just put me back to sleep. It's like the forum became stagnate. Also some just seem to focus on the big players, there is a lot of other cool news coming out, but because big names are not put to it, people don't bother to give it the time of day.

Maybe, I'm just grumpy because I'm not still in the states and am now so very far away from it all.

But yes true fully I'd find it hard to just pick up my keyboard and leave with so many great people on here, in the small little city that I live in, this place has saved me from complete boredom. Well there are some threads I want to comment on right now, but I thought this would be the best one to start with.
