Patrick, it is very easy to make your arguement after a race. I'm speaking of intent before rolling to the lanes and integrity in a sport. Some may think the advent of big money and big sponsors means the game has changed. I do not. I believe every competitor should go to the line for every round, for every race with the "screw the driver in the other lane" mentality of Shirley, Big Daddy, and the Snake. And oh by the way, if Robert Hight/Prock knew they had to beat Force heads up in 2009, or Neff had to beat Force heads up today? Well you never know how they would have pushed the tune up. When 2 teams work against each other to preserve integrity and the competitive desire to win races things arent so predictable. Remember Patrick, these Funny Cars arent the easiests of babies to dial in. If your saying Force would have never beat Hight. Or Force would have never beat Neff today, I ask you: Have you ever seen a Funny Car race. Answer: Yes I know you have.

Personally, I think they should drop the stupid rule... sacrifice fly to right field... why the heck not?
d'kid

Thank you Karl!!!

I'm so very sick of this crap!!!

We all know Mr Schumacher does not allow team orders because his drivers repeat it every chance they get!!! That is how he runs HIS business!!!
We all know Mr Force runs HIS business his way and if that means team orders, then maybe that's what he does!!!

Karl is on the money!!! Since NHRA can't or won't enforce the rule, get rid of it!!!

FYI: I am sick & tired of this issue being brought up nearly every race!!!
GET OVER IT!!!

Point well taken, but I do feel Neff would of won either way.

Post of the thread. Some people just like to stir the pot. You can't deny it Steve.

I'd love to see your proof of this being cheating. Where exactly were you standing when John said to leave the throttle stop on?
Right there next to him LOL. Seriously? I don't have to show it, JFR shows it to you time and again. If it indeed was an honest mistake (history makes this a very long shot), I will retract my statements and apologize.

They are ALL jealous of JFR!
Jealous of divers? No.
Can you guys grow up and get over it? It's Don's choice to be heads up, but if Don changed his mind, I would understand. WHY? BECAUSE IT'S BUSINESS. John Force has had a pitiful year by JFR standards and if that's what was BEST for the BUSINESS then the BUSINESS must win. As for Langdon falling to alBalooshi, do you think it was really best for the interest of the team to let the only points chase car lose? Now we know why Jason McCulloch never posts here! Not like he or the entire team worked their asses off the entire season, no that can't be it!
I can't support diving, divers or their sponsors tainting a sport I love. Sport, not business. I don't buy tickets to the drag business, I buy tickets to the drag races.

I forget who, but someone from the Al Anabi team said this weekend, that the Al Anabi team races clean.
I think that some of those comments are just as classless as some of the people here are accusing David of being. Ron had every right to respond in the manner he did, since the comments made here were about him. But some of the stuff on this facebook thread are pretty disgusting.
I'm not on facebook or twitter and I can't speak for anyone but myself, but if I find out it was an honest mistake I will retract my statement and apologize to them and their fans.
That car swap was the best thing to Happen to Jack Beckman don't you think?
I think he forgot the famous JFR "shake up" when Force switched driving seats around. It's ok if his teams do it, but not anyone else's.

Guido must be the best actor of all time. If the throttle stop stuff was planned, Guido is in the wrong profession ... he could make much more money in the movies.

For the record, my original point was that Force is much better at winning than he is at losing. Either way, I understand, do what you gotta do.

Also, a disclaimer. Even tho I started the thread, I don't want to be held at all responsible for the crybaby comment about Capps. Holy crap David, where did you pull that outta? I've never seen anything less than total class from RC. Beckman, now he was kinda whining today, but.......:D

Tomorrow morning when driving to work or what ever you do, ask the first ten people you see what they thought about Force or anyone else. Going out on a limb, I bet a large majority of the responses you will get will be something along the line of "Who in the hell is Force?"

My point is as much as we all love to think the world revolves around drag racing..the truth is the world doesn't give a **** about drag racing and the sun will come up tomorrow. You think the world cares about drag racing? Tell me why the sport is sometimes pre-empted on ESPN2 by left handed red headed chess matches at 2AM?

Maybe I am getting ahead of myself but the sun will come up tomorrow even if a Force car throws a race or a DSR car happens to spin the tires. Its a friggen sport...not saving a life or putting someone on another planet. Try to keep this circus in perspective. Its entertainment, just like football and 'professional' wrestling.

But on the other hand, it's pretty cool that NHRA fans are so passionate. No denying that.

More people hate Pro Football than NHRA. It is just more people are aware of Pro Football than NHRA.

Pot meet kettle! It's ok for Don but not ok for Greg Anderson (your previous post about his Qs). You are right that business is business.

Tree'd me.

(I hadn't gotten to respond to the other thread yet, but since you've backed yourself into a corner here, I guess this'll do)

In all fairness Greg's was a qualifying technique and I dont really love the idea of trying to do poorly in the hopes of who your first round date will be.

Ahh, but to quote you: "Totally different animal".

There was no race outcome in Greg's plan. He didn't "throw", or take a "dive", that gave Jason any win, completely unlike what this situation appears to be.

Say, theoretically, Greg has to appease Summit and at least enter every race. If there were 17 cars entered in a race and Jason Line and Ronnie Humphrey were the only KB cars in the Countdown, and he tanked qualifying runs to make sure those cars got in, then there might be a comparison to this.

Business would still be business. You can't have it both ways.

Mike Dunn said it best, you don't win 15 championships by leaving a throttle stop on. John was dead late and that happened. A big pat on the back to AJR and DSR for racing heads up. For the record, I don't think John had a car that could beat Neff. We now have a 3 man race in FC. If DSR threw races Neff still wouldn't be in the title picture but Don is a man of his word and keeps the integrity of the sport.

Don't grant Don sainthood just yet. He has manipulated his teams to give the NAPA car the best shot at winning the championship. Changing teams, cars, trailers, hanging Beckman out to dry by Johnny Gray. It may not be leaving on a throttle stop but the affect is the same. I see it with my own eyes.

I'm thinking there's NO WAY this was staged. Force can't possibly be that STUPID to thing the fans would believe a story like a throttle stop. NO WAY. Blow the tires off half track, maybe, but NOT a freakin' throttle stop. LMAO!!!!

Guido must be the best actor of all time. If the throttle stop stuff was planned, Guido is in the wrong profession ... he could make much more money in the movies.

I think you're right Chris, after seeing the broadcast last night, I'll retract my previous and call it an honest mistake.

Patrick, Answer this. You pointed out earlier there is no way Force would have beaten Hight in 2009, and no way Force would have beaten Neff at Maple Grove. Correct? So then I ask, why wouldnt JFR race heads up if the outcome was a sure thing? You must have a copy of Bif Tannan's Sports Almanac
