Yes, the rule is the problem. Let the teams forfeit if they want. Other sports do. It will speed up the show and save possible oil downs.

This is correct. It is a rule that cannot be enforced. It then creates what we have today. I still remember years ago when Connie was asked if he would throw a race for Scott. he said " they are my cars I can do what I want with them" I No rule will ever change this.

It's a shame this thread got more hits and replies than the Bob Frey retiring thread. Team orders and dives are part of the sport, always have been and always will be. It's not that big of deal people. Remember in the good 'ol days when top teams would fail to qualify every so often and they would pay off lower funded teams to pull out so they could be inserted in the ladder for Sundays eliminations? Take your girl panties off and put on your man underwear. It's gonna still happen no mater what we think about it.

And the winners is Mike Green. Great post.

I couldn't disagree more.

I don't think most of us have as much of a problem with John Farce playing the "team orders" game, as we do with him trying to pull the wool over our eyes while doing it. I might be wrong, but I believe a lot of us here would have more respect for him if he just came out and said he is going to do whatever it takes to make sure the best positioned person on his team, is given the best chance to advance.

When Don did it, he publicly admitted it, and took his lumps like a man. Look where it has ultimately gotten him. He now has a great chance at finishing number 1 and 2 in the standings. And do I ever hope he does it. I'd love to see a Capps/Beckman one two finish. How great would it be to see them in the finals against each other at Pomona, for all the marbles? Could happen. May the best team win. Because that's the way Don runs his operation now.

I hope the JFR team is nominated for an Emmy for that acting performance we saw. At least it'd be another trophy for their shelf.

Before any of you accuse me of being a hater of JFR, I am anything but. I love what he has done for the sport, and I love all the accomplishments they have achieved. But I think the questionable antics are catching up. Isn't it ironic a lot of this stuff seems to have really intensified since a certain iconic Crew Chief left?
