I dont think Texas will be undefeated. I was just messing with Tom. I think its very possible they lose a few games to be honest. I havent been impressed this year and as bad as I hate to say it, I think OU will win this year. Let me see some games first but I dont think I'm going to change my mind but god I hope they win that game.

Oh man, Justin!!! NEVER feed the beast that is Tom's OU ego!!!:p Never say you think OU will beat Texas...NO MATTER WHAT!!!:D

Well, that oughta quiet down the Meatchicken fans for a little while.

Oh yeah... Kudos and THANK YOU to App. St. for taking the whole "David and Goliath" spotlight off of us. Kinda makes that whole Fiesta bowl ordeal look rather blase', doesn't it? :D

On any given Saturday...

PJ, I even said a prayer for you last night after that. Sorry man. Fear App State!

My Longhorns didnt do to well last night against Arkansas St. 21-13:eek:. The only thing that makes us not look so bad was Michigan's nightmare loss!!! If the Longhorns play the same way next weekend against TCU, we will surely get our a$$es handed to us!!!

I really thought Michigan had the team to beat this year with all the talent they had returning and that the championship was there's to lose...I didnt think they would lose it so early.

Come on Tom,
Nothing could ever remove the spotlight from that Boise State game in the Fiesta Bowl. That was a "game for the ages." It was ashame your Okies were on the losing side of that game but for anyone who's ever played or dreamed of doing so, that was "the game" to remind us never to stop believing.

As for Michigan, they just got thumped when they thought they were having a tune-up? Somebody forgot to tell they they had champions coming to their house. It was an awe-inspiring experience to hear dead silence in a stadium filled with 109,000+ fans watching on. Never count out the underdog!

Okay, just a few things to say about the Michigan game:

1. Remember that Appalachian State is the two year in a row 1-AA National Champs.

2. I guess the losses on defence were more significant than any of the coaches thought. Jake Long is good, but not the whole defence.

3. This is what you get when you are looking to play the last game of January and it is only September. I think the team was thinking Championship and came in over confident and got a whole lotta humble pie.

4. This could have happened to any team, you are all kidding yourselves if you think this could have never happened to your team.

5. Michigan can still win the Big 10 title, go 11-1 and play in the Rose bowl. If nothing else, they can still win against Ohio State (yeah, no one thought Michigan would lose yesterday too).

6. Final thought, I bleed Maize and Blue, through and through.

GO BLUE!!!!!

I love seeing an underdog get his or her due but this was a MUCH bigger upset than the Fiesta bowl. The "pundits" are calling it the biggest upset in college football history, sportsbooks wouldn't even post a betting line! A D1AA (formerly D2?) team winning at Michigan, are you kidding me?!?!?!?

BSU was only about a 7.5 point underdog against a suspect OU team, heck we were a bigger dog (13.5) when we beat FSU for the title in 2000. Now, does it compare to the excitement of the FB? Nope, probably not. Particularly since the talking heads had a full 3 weeks or so to talk up the David vs. Goliath aspect of the FB, plus the unbelievable 4th quarter and OT play... it was the most exciting OU game I've ever been to and I've been to a bunch of 'em!

Ask PJ about making that same statement last year & how he had to put the great OHIO STATE BUCKEYES avatar in his corner for a couple of months!!!!:p
It drove him nuts (well, we can't blame his nuttiness on that!!) but he was a great sport about it!!!

Yeah. 1-AA. Ha ha ha!

Uh, yeah.

Why would they be looking that far ahead? What have they done recently that would give them the idea that they should be looking to January, when they are playing a 1-AA team. Please.

4. This could have happened to any team, you are all kidding yourselves if you think this could have never happened to your team.

No, it couldn't. It has NEVER happened before.

No they can't. Quit lying to yourself. Your season will be much more enjoyable if you are honest with yourself about it.

6. Final thought, I bleed Maize and Blue, through and through.

What year did you graduate from Michigan?

Yeah. 1-AA. Ha ha ha!

Uh, yeah.

Wow John, somebody has it out for you!!! It,s ok John, I bleed Burnt Orange and White...and no, I didnt graduate from Texas:rolleyes:
In comparison, just because I love a good shot of nitro in the morning doesnt mean I have to have a Top Fuel license to do so.:p

Yeah. 1-AA. Ha ha ha!

Just because a school is 1-AA does not mean they have a weak football program.

Uh, yeah.

The reason 4 Seniors returned this year was for this reason. Most people had Michigan winning the Big 10 and playing for the Championship, very least the Rose Bowl.

No, it couldn't. It has NEVER happened before.

Doesn't mean it could not happen to anouther team, it happened to Michigan and it can happen to any other team. ANY team can be beat on any game day.

Anything is possible, just like Michigan losing to ASU.

What year did you graduate from Michigan?

Didn't go there, but I am not a fair weather fan. I support this team through all it's ups and downs.

I don't know who your team is but from the way you talk about mine they must be perfect in every way, never lose a game and never have a bad day. Every team has bad days, are over/under rated, or get upset in a game. Look at some examples from last season, Notre Dame vs. Michigan, USC vs. UCLA, Ohio State vs. Florida, Oklahoma vs. Boise State. I don't know if in your post you meant to come off as a jerk, but that is the way it came across.

i was in Union Grove racing all weekend and i have been detached from civilization for 2 and a half days and i checked all the scores today i see that Appalachian St had more points and i went 'Holy F@$%in Sh!t'.....but take heart John, and Dave & PJ (who have been mysteriously quiet and absent from the board :p), did u see how good ND looked this weekend

I never said they had a weak football program. I haven't heard one person say that. Not even all the people on tv that are calling this "the biggest upset in the history of College football".

Are these the same people that overrate Michigan every year? Oh, wait. I read an article about this last year on espn.com. Michigan isn't overrated every year, they are just the most "underachieving".

Doesn't mean it could not happen to anouther team, it happened to Michigan and it can happen to any other team. ANY team can be beat on any game day.

Oh really. Then why has it never happened before? Are you telling me that a High School team could beat a highly ranked College team on any given Saturday? Hey, if it helps your pain, keep telling yourself it's okay that Michigan lost that game.

Anything is possible, just like Michigan losing to ASU.

Uh huh.

Didn't go there, but I am not a fair weather fan. I support this team through all it's ups and downs.

Great! I wasn't knocking you for not going there. I was just curious. Seems to be the consensus around here. The most diehard fans didn't go there. I know you don't live here, so I am not comparing you to MichiganFan here in Michigan.

You are comparing apples to oranges. None of those games you describe, were even close to the debacle Michigan let happen on Saturday. That was more like USC beating the Indianapolis Colts, than it was any of the games you reference above. This wasn't one football team beating another football team. This was one level beating another level. And a top 5 at that!

I don't know if in your post you meant to come off as a jerk, but that is the way it came across.

Well, I didn't mean to. But then again, I thought you came off as a jerk with your original post. Don't get me wrong. I seriously doubt you are a jerk. In fact, I love you. I love all Michigan fans. They drown in their arrogance year after year, and I get to enjoy it! I am sure you will get your chance to gloat sometime this year. Like when Michigan beats Northwestern. Or when they beat Indiana. Or when they beat........:D

Long live Lloyd Carr! I hope he NEVER retires!

Hey Mike
Ive been up north all weekend. I have been removed from civilization.... THANK GOD!! I kept checking the scores from my Blackberry which by the way no longer exists as I fired it into the freaking woods!!

Teri have your way with me as I have zero defense against this one. Im hanging my head however I'm right there with ya John as I'm a Wolverine fan through thick and thin. A Wolverine fan that NEVER attended the school. Vaughn remember? We had this discussion last year. You really need to be a little more original with your material. You see John, Vaughn feels that you can NOT follow a team unless you are a graduate from the univeristy. Evidently there are no other college football fans in this country other than the graduates from their schools. Michigan is the ONLY one that has fans that didn't attend. Vaughn also feels that EVERY Michigan fan thinks that Michigan is invinsicble and we are automatically self proclaimed GOD's chosen people. It's a load of crap.

My Wolverines just got an embarassing ass beating and I'm here to take my abuse....
Hey Vaughn: GO BLUE!!!
