I'm a little late to the party on this one. But I would never bet on Pomona losing a date unless it was driven by the city of LaVerne or the Fairgrounds board:
1) NHRA doesn't have to split the revenue with a track operator/partner.
2) It's one of the most cost-effective events for them to run...no travel expenses for the majority of the staff.
3) It brings all the equipment home for the winter. You start the season with everything pretty much where you left it.
