On the other side of the Flamingo is one of my favorite places to eat in Vegas, Batista's Hole in the Wall. All the house wine you can drink, all the bread you can eat, the menu is on the wall, it's about $20 a person for the entrees but you get a ton of food. Just a thought since you'll be so close.
I am flying out on Tuesday and staying through April 7. Hubby and I lived in Vegas and the last couple short trips we made down there we didn't have enough time to visit all of our friends or do all the stuff we wanted to do so we're doing a week. We're staying with a friend who lives down off Nellis ... so she's not too far from the track. Takes about 20 minutes to get there. Heh.
Plane fare for both of us was a steal (thank you Hotwire) ... got my tickets while they were on sale. Yes, I got GA tickets, I want to get a sunburn! Plus you can't beat $91 for three days for me and a Sunday ticket for hubby. Less than half of what I paid for Vegas 2 in 2006. Reserved my car rental yesterday. So, I'm good to go. I can not wait. It's cold and rainy (or snowy depending on the day) around here lately so I'm looking forward to spring time in Vegas.
Don't know the exact space number, but I do know that I am in the third row in the middle. I am supposed to be very near the gate to go into the track.
Will be a Silver Dodge 2500 Cummins Diesel pulling at 20 foot camper.
why does that always backfire for me? Hey anyone staying on or near the strip need a ride to the track let me know. I got my rental today and would be happy to give someone a ride who might be drinking a bit too much at the track.
I am working the race for comp plus so i will be sober as a bird at the track.
Well, I'm gonna miss this one. I don't miss many Spring Vegas races (this may be the first I've missed since about '02) but this time I gotta fly the other direction to New York for work. Ya'll have fun.
I'll be there, for the National, the Divisional, and then I'm staying til Wednesday the 15 to bowl in the Nationals. Don't know where I'm staying yet and don't care yet. I'll ask when I get home from Houston.
Yeah all rounds at the track will be diet mountain dew for me guys. Will be there working for the man, Bobby B.
The cool thing about the hooters is doubling down on a game of blackjack, while eating wings, and trying REALLY hard to stare down the dealer...in her eyes
Hooters bought the San Remo several years ago. They remodeled the property into a Hooters Casino/Hotel. I just happened to have been in town for the grand opening.

Must've been after I moved back to the Seattle area ... I only vaguely recall the San Remo. I'll have to look it up. I've never been to Hooters but I hear they have the best wings ever ... then again I may just go to BWW while I'm in Vegas. Also have to be sure to get to In N Out burger, too, since we also don't have that up here.
It's on Tropicana just east of the Trop itself. Just off the strip from the corner that has NY, Excalibur, the Trop, and MGM. Frankly, it's a bit of a dive, but it's nicer than the Trop (which is just about dead), and of course the scenery is nice, if you're into that sort of thing...
