It was looking as though I was going to miss Vegas again but the racing gods have smiled upon me and at the last minute granted me a reprieve! It won't be my normal week-long vacation but I'm going to fly in Friday morning and stay either at the Imperial or Barbary Coast, leaving on Monday. Can't wait to see everybody again!

Roll call time... who's going and where are you staying?

FYI - Barbary Coast was bought by Harrah's, it's now called Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon. Not sure how that's going to affect reservations, rates, etc.

Yeah, that's what they told me. The guy that's been taking care of me at Imperial said he may have to put me over there since I booked so late. Whatever the case, I'm going!

We'll be there, all days. Staying at the track (sorry, no guest room).

Taking four cars, only racing two unless SG opens up.

We're flying in Wednesday, staying at the Imperial. Leaving Monday. Hope to meet some Maters this time.

I know somebody that is going to the Vegas race and it will be the first time that he will have attended an NHRA drag race of any kind. I'm hoping someone here familiar with the Vegas track will post a little primer that I can pass onto him. Helpful hints of things to see and things to avoid are especially appreciated.

Getting in Thursday, and flying home Monday. Of corse we`ll be at the track all three days! Staying at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Coming in Tuesday Night, Out on Monday, Staying at Boulder Station I think, Working down at the end on trk 3, With a very Heavy Heart. Will there be a Mater Meeting, Would love to finally meet a few Maters.

Getting in Friday at like 7:30AM! Stayin g at the La Quinta off Tropicana to save $$$! Going to see Morris Day and the Time Sat. night at Boulder station.

I sure hope the weather's better than Houston, Then come Monday I'll worry about the CC! Thank God for my second job!

I saw that they were playing that weekend Joe. Saturday night we`re going to either Jay Leno or Prince at the Rio. It`s Lisas choice and she better decide quick (hoping it`s Leno personally)!

Flying in Thursday evening, out Sunday night late. Staying at Palace Station. Hanging out with my son at the Lucas T/F camp....might also spend some time with the Kalitta clan.

I will be flying in Wednesday with the Kalitta boys to bring my daughter to her first drag race!!

Rich, you might have your friend register here so he can follow this thread. At any rate...

  • Rent a car! Getting to the track and back via cab sucks.
  • Don't forget sunscreen, hats, and your favorite pair of Oakley shades.
  • Bring clothes suitable for radical weather and temp changes, especially Friday.
  • You can't take pictures with your fingers stuck in your ears. (Bring earplugs)
  • Search out one (or more) of us Maters to help with explaining the different classes.
  • Never play the money wheel, it's the work of the devil.

Flying in Friday morning leaving Sunday night late. Hope to see some of you there.

A lot of pro teams stay at the Cannery, which is the closet big hotel/casino to the track. In the past, the Schumacher teams all stayed and played there. I've also had relatively good luck in the casino at the Cannery - my gambling fund seems to last longer there than most casinos. :D

We've stayed at the Cannery a number of times-even next door to Snake once. We've met all kinds of pros there every time.

We were going to Vegas One again this year but I requested the option of taking the 5th Wheel, staying on site and bringing our golf cart for Paul, who just had major hip surgery. I e-mailed a number of officials at LVMS as well as Chris Blair and general info to verify that we could do so, but received no response whatsoever. As a result, we'll pass on Vegas One this year.
