Anyone else hear them talking about some offer in the both? Based on their past I was surprised.

Tony is the dimmest one in the commentator role. He mentioned that in Denver the crews up the nitro percentage. I think NHRA has a limit of 95%.
then he mentions the green flames from a header pipe and says its valve guides?? It's head gaskets , pretty sure.
this took place on Fridays q1 show

Last time I was sitting in the stands with Chuck Worsham he told me that green flames mean its burning aluminum.
So I guess that means Heads or Pistons right?

Interesting, copper burns green. Aluminum powder burns blue/white. Not sure what color solid aluminum burns. Could be the aluminum in pistons is alloyed with copper? Anyway, chuck would know better.

Copper head gaskets. When you see green flames the motor is very unhappy. The aluminum around the exhaust valve seat may be the first to go because it gets very hot. The chamber starts to look like cottage cheese instead of pretty machine finished metal.

You know it was about 15 years ago when I had that conversation with him. Maybe he did say head gaskets and I was thinking he said heads.
I am not sure, so lets go with you said about copper burning green and go with head gaskets. wow I suddenly feel old and I am only 40....

I do remember him telling me that if you see green the motor is not going to last too much longer and that it is unhappy.

:)
