The best non conference team they play was a div 1AA western illinois with a 5-6 record.
excuse me tom........are you calling the university i currently attend "popcorn state" when it comes to our football program???
Yeah, well... in the arena of Zebra robbery I think we CLEARLY get the nod this year. Even ESPN said we got robbed.Wait a minute, if you are gonna claim the phantom onside kick game, I'm gonna proclaim LSU the best one loss team in the country based on the stinkin Auburn game!!!
Bad? That's a bit on the understated side of things, don't ya think?good grief you had me for a second. then i realize you're not counting that bad oregon game are you
Hey Terry, Auburn will be a tough one to overcome, but we will pull for ya!!
My Horns are playing in the "toilet...I mean Alamo bowl Boy , what a difference a year makes...we were getting ready to play for the national title and this year we are lucky to even know what a football looks like...It kinda makes me feel like we are OU
Tim, I hope you remember what that was like because Texas only gets the opportunity to play for one National Championship every 25 years or so. It's different for Oklahoma since we've played for 3 in this century alone.Boy, what a difference a year makes...we were getting ready to play for the national title and this year we are lucky to even know what a football looks like...It kinda makes me feel like we are OU
the great thing about stats is that you can read them however you want. By winning percentage Florida had the toughest schedule (michigna 3rd) in the country.
BUT Michigan opponents had more wins, 77, than any other teams in the country. So which is harder? more impressive??
I do agree that the sec had ore good teams than the big ten (although not as good as they like to think) but the Big Ten had the 2 best teams

Surely you can come up with something better than that. I mean really, we were playing for Championships and y'all were in the Holiday Bowl, lol!Yeah Tom you are correct, but of those 3, how many has OU won? If my memory serves me correctly...1...same as my Horns

You can't win 'em if you don't get to play for 'em.
Hey, I don't make the rules. But since you brought it up, why should USC have gone and not Auburn?1 of those games OU shouldnt have even played in...USC should have gone instead!
GO BUCKEYES!!!! OHIO STATE #1!!!!!
Sorry, I had to!!!
Thats proves the point about perception doesn't it!!
Michigan is an awesome team & would have been just as deserving as Florida to get the championship game nod...
However, the comparison of conferences I will argue all day. Those stats don't lie. 9 bowl teams... And by the way, the Big 10 did NOT have the 2 best teams, they had 2 of the top 3 teams....
I don't feel so good .....
Go Blue!!!
Is it?? How many non conference wins did they have against the top 25? ONE and yes the big ten had more. You can get a good record when all you play is creampuffs.
I do believe that the sec has more good teams then any other conference right now, I'm just not so sure they are great teams.
