No problem there, Teri! You KNOW I'll be rooting for the Buckeyes cause everyone knows they will totally destroy the Gators! (that ought to let us know if there are any Florida fans out there!) I was just telling Dave that I could ALSO pull for Michigan this time also against USC! I'll be cheering for Ohio State, you can bet on that! You did all you could for the Huskers and I even went out to the field near my house and picked an ear of corn before the combine got there to shake for the buckeyes....not as good as a buckeye bag, I know, but after all, I am from Nebraska...nuff said! GO Buckeyes!

Terry,
I am sorry that the BUCKEYE bag didn't do the trick for the HUSKERS, I even smashed a few for you!!:p
I really was rooting for them & I will be cheering them on in the Cotton Bowl!!

Tim, are you out there? What's the feeling on the upcoming 'Horns game with Iowa? My first reaction is that the Horns will have a cakewalk against Iowa--what are the Horn fans thinking? Will McCoy be ready? Haven't heard a report on him since the second injury......

Iowa was hit with the injury big early and often this year. If the time off actually allows them to get healthy then this could be a good game, if not then Texas will stomp them

Thanks for the info, PJ. As long as we're all airing our feelings about other teams, people from Iowa and Nebraska often times don't get along too well. That being said, I certainly vote for the Texas stomps Iowa scenario. Are you all healed PJ, with no lingering maladies??

Some good points but here's a couple of things in regard to your remarks:

re: Michigan - I hope they knock the living snot out of the University of Spoiled Children. While technically you're correct in that they didn't lose for 2 weeks, the reality is that they didn't play for 2 weeks thus giving other schools the opportunity to hopscotch 'em. Perhaps if the Big Televen ever concocts a Conference Championship Game that won't been an issue at some point in the future.

re: ND / LSU - I agree completely.

re: LSU / USC Split Title - LSU won the BCS Championship game by a touchdown in the Sugar Bowl and were indeed the champions. USC had a championship invented for them by the AP. Basically there was no "shared title" except in the minds of SUC, the almighty AP and, of course, ESPN and their legion of Big 10 / Pac 10 mind-numbed robots.

University of Spoiled Children. I like that one lol

I don't remember what happened that gave USC part of some championship I just remember that they rode over Michigan to get there.

I don't see a championship game really helping it would have been Michigan vs OSU anyway. If Michigan wins then we have osu, mich and florida sitting at 1 lose then who gets to go. I think backing the michigan/osu game up a week would help this problem in the future.

as a side note I do feel for Wisconsin, Louisville and Boise State, the first 2 only have 1 lose and Boise has none, yet they get zero consideration for the title game. At #5 I would bet Wisconsin is the highest team ever left out of one of the bcs bowl games. Wait a minute the big ten has 3 of the top 5 teams....I thought the sec was the best:p

I drove around Michigan stadium 3 times today, it has magical healing powers. I am back to normal.....well at least about as normal as I get :)

No worries Gary, I am sure you wont miss me being over there anytime soon! I have some friends from there. The people are ok for the most part. I've attened many races over there in the past and visited your casinos several times each year. Its just Houston is feed up with the Katrina New Orleans people. I swear if I see one more on tv complaining about FEMA cutting there money I'm going to scream. Yall are going to see me on the news next for killing some idiot with a sign that says, "ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR, GET A DAMN JOB!" Dont get me wrong, I feel sorry for the people who lost everything. I really do, but I am ready for the losers they sent over here (and trust me, they sent alot) to go back home, and it isint ever going to happen.

Justin, I figured it was the Houston/Katrina thing but I didn't want to "assume". When Katrina hit we too evacuated to Houston and have never been treated nicer. We were there for 3 months until my company had their office back in operation. We owe Houston a great debt for their kindness and generosity shown to us......With that said I know that some of the more undisireable(criminal) elements stayed in Houston.....I can promise you there is more work in this town that they have people to fill the jobs! If there are folks that stayed in Houston because they said there is nothing to come back too here, its just flat wrong....They aren't coming back because they don't want to work for it, they probably want it given to them! I admire the folks that have come back here and tackled this thing head on to make this place a better place to live. I wish I could help, but don't hate the rest of us that are here working our arses off to help this area recover. .....Now back to the game, LOL.......I think LSU was really looking forward to going to the Rose Bowl and then USC took a nap Saturday...still it should be a good game with Notre Dame.......Tom I think the same could probably be said for a seqment of each team supporters...Some folks take this "Shitake" way too serious!!!!

Glad to hear it PJ, although I did love reading about your "illness". Teri, thanks for your undying support of the semi-effective Cornhuskers. Tom's dirt burglars put it to us good, but now we must rally and defeat Auburn!!!! And I'll be shaking my ear of corn to bring about a Buckeye destruction of the gators. And it wasn't the buckeye bag's fault that OU beat us....just think how bad it could have been WITHOUT the buckeye bag on our side.

Ahem. I believe Oklahoma is the best one-loss team in the country.

:D

Wisconsin? Please. They've played Popcorn State OOC schedules and didn't even have the full slate of Big Televen opponents this year. Wisconsin at #5 is a gift IMHO.

Its hard to be objective when you are a fan...

To be fair, Western Kentucky is a 1AA team, not a D2 school. Also, in the BCS standings, the Big 10 has 3 teams in the top 7, but no more. The SEC has 5 teams in the top 17. The SEC has 9 bowl teams. 10 of Florida's opponents are going bowling... Floridas opponents have the highest winning percentage in the nation...

Its real hard to be able to look at the big picture. The only way to pick between Florida & Michigan is to look at those numbers, and based on those numbers I would have voted the same way....

But I think on a neutral field Michigan would beat Florida... How screwed up is that??:D

excuse me tom........are you calling the university i currently attend "popcorn state" when it comes to our football program??? :D :D

yea but after that...what do they have.....i wouldnt exactly consider Michigan St. Illinois and Indiana powerhouses :D

ya I know, its just something to get the sec'ers going:D

and hey indiana had a good turn around this year, they fell one game short of making a bowl game and for them thats pretty amazing

good grief you had me for a second. then i realize you're not counting that bad oregon game are you :)

you're are more than right, Wisconsin is heavily overrated, they got lucky in not having to play OSU this year. Their non conference schedule is embarrassing. The best non conference team they play was a div 1AA western illinois with a 5-6 record. I suspect that they will get blown up by Arkansas.

the great thing about stats is that you can read them however you want. By winning percentage Florida had the toughest schedule (michigna 3rd) in the country.

BUT Michigan opponents had more wins, 77, than any other teams in the country. So which is harder? more impressive??

I do agree that the sec had ore good teams than the big ten (although not as good as they like to think) but the Big Ten had the 2 best teams

Hey, Tom or Tim, if you're out there, what do you know about Auburn? I only saw them play once this season. They are rated quite a bit higher than good ol' NU. How do you think we will stack up against them in the Cotton Bowl? And welcome, Justin, as another ND supporter in all this foolishness. Any Florida fans out there? That would really get stuff goin.

Hey Terry, Auburn will be a tough one to overcome, but we will pull for ya!!
My Horns are playing in the "toilet...I mean Alamo bowl:p Boy , what a difference a year makes...we were getting ready to play for the national title and this year we are lucky to even know what a football looks like...It kinda makes me feel like we are OU:p :D
