Short TF fields.

I’ve been watching the IHRA races on YouTube and not once did the crowd look like that at National Trail. Maybe someone in attendance can verify. I also believe that either IHRA is paying him or he just has a big vendetta against NHRA.
Definitely NOT being paid by IHRA!

So it seems like a pretty obvious question, how does nhra get those 4 or 5 cars to come to nhra races on a regular basis ?? If they accomplish that the ihra goes away
Didn't someone post earlier about higher payouts for making all qualifying sessions? Ditching that would be a tiny help.

In the big picture, a little more $ may be a grain of sand, but eventually grains make a heap.

What do you think will happen if IHRA has a points fund next year? And/ or offers just a few more dollars for qualifying and round wins? I think there will be 8-12 that show up every NHRA race for points, 6-10 that show up for IHRA points(if it happens). I wonder how many FCC cars are getting ready for IHRA next year.

Why would anyone pay someone to watch a race? I don’t know the history between the owner of the IHRA and the other guys.
Enlighten me please.

Aside from drag racing, I follow other motorsports including tractor pulling (NTPA and the like).

A person with connections to Europe said they found that free livestreams increased their in person attendance be a lot. Pulling is big in Europe.

People don't know what they don't know. Youtube can whet the appetite for the real thing... including NHRA.

watched some of the IHRA race last night. Only saw one shot of the stands. Almost empty

Let's not overlook the fact that 90% of NHRA events have almost zero attendance. I have been to NT where there were almost zero spectators for national events. Basing spectators on the 24 nitro events is biased, IHRA whether there is larger attendance or not they are paying out more money than NHRA on smaller fields where racers have better chance. As word gets out spectator numbers will go up.
Nitro is like the circus coming to town, after FC and TF people are not watching racing they are eating and peeing.

They would pay him to create positive content for IHRA and negative content for NHRA. This is something that does exist in the social media. I’m not saying it is right or wrong but it can and does exist.

Run TF against FC again.... at the 4 wides it would be wild 🙃
If I recall, Force won that big race at Bristol in 1999 that paid $200K to the winner. I remember the TF folks saying they were so distracted by the audio impact of the FC's launching - they got a 3/10 second spot - that it threw any reaction-time consistency into the weeds. I believe they held some exhibition style TF vs FC racing at Gainesville back in the late 80s.

ihra is currently providing better odds of taking home guaranteed money at levels surpassing nhra.
no surprise at all that all these independents do not hesitate to run ihra; right now at least. they have no allegiance to anyone.
it's no wonder companies have stepped up in the nhra to not only sponsor friday night low e.t., but also in the case of ennis, additional
qualifying and show money for the pro nitro classes.
will be interesting to see what happens with 1/8 mile this weekend.
And how long does Darrell keep paying purse out of his pocket with no paid seats in the stands?
Unless attendance gets better I can't see it.

I think the thing people are forgetting is that Darryl purchased the IHRA in December of last year. And the Nitro Series wasn’t even a thing until May of this year. I think what has been accomplished in such a short period of time is amazing. The upgrades to the tracks, putting together a quality TV program, putting on these races with so little time, if that’s not impressive I don’t know what is. The new IHRA hasn’t even been around for a year, and people are comparing it to an organization that has been around for almost 75 years. Give it time!! No it will never be NHRA, but if you are a true drag racing fan how could you possibly have a complaint on what they are doing and trying to accomplish

Note to Darryl- All your tracks have the same green and black colors. Even if that's your primary corporate colors, there is nothing wrong with keeping the font and style but switching up the colors, ie each version of Darana Raceway has it's own color scheme.

As I type this I'm wearing a brown John Deere cap. Nobody is confused about exactly what John Deere's main colors are.

I agree it all runs together, but when you drop 300 million dollars you can paint and name things whatever you want

John Deere yellow construction equipment also.

Your thoughts if IHRA has a points fund next year,? And or they go up just a few thousand each round win?

I think it will draw a lot more racers, and will give the lower budget guys a chance at some sponsorships, not big money NHRA sponsorships, but opportunities they normally wouldn’t have. Del has been able to pull in some sponsorship for his IHRA deal, and I think it gives businesses an opportunity to be seen on YouTube and the free stream, without having to drop a bunch of coin. I have quite a few friends who have been running IHRA, in pro mod and nitro, and from what I’ve been told there are a ton of verbal commitments to the series for next year.

i like what jack korpela said in his recent video regarding ihra ...... to paraphrase,
darryl c. make decisions right now; changes and improvements move at a fast pace

What about the “Powerade” Blue NHRA used? And the Winston Red?
