Whoah! Virgil. Not so sure that's a good idea man. Cell phone number I mean.

Seriously, I'd rethink that.

Mayhaps one of the mods can edit Virgil's post and then help them hook up?
Done.......... Virgil you should see the mail icon in the upper right highlighted in red, click that and you should see the message I sent to you and Don.

No fair telling secrets :)

Virgil, are you sure you want your email up like that?

I just wanted to say congrats on the weekend you guys had at Martin.

Will we see that car out anymore this year ... CHRR perhaps?

Thanks, the car has been rented for the the CHRR so we used the three DRO events that didn't conflict with Richard's NHRA schedule to dial it in so that we could be a factor in Bakersfield. The 7th run on the car was a 5.75 @ 251, the 9th run was a 5.68 @ 259 and the 11th run was a 5.60 @ 259.82. We think we are close. The car will go to Ware Shoals Dragway this Wednesday to allow the new driver some get acquainted laps, and then again the Saturday before Dallas for a Hard Knocks event and then it will be on it's way to Bakersfield.

As far as the email address and cell number, I am not hiding and they are available in many places. I always post under my name and try not to write anything that I wouldn't say to someone face to face. Sometimes people take issue with what I post and that is alright with me. We all have a right to our opinions.

I believe that you're far better than close - you guys are out in front with your spectacular performance...
Will Tony have to make six passes for his NHRA license before Bakersfield ?
We are looking forward to watching your attack on the left coast guys. :)

He has his FIA license and I believe that is good as a crossover. We are looking forward to our trip out west also as I was told many times while running Sasquatch that it was easy to run a big pump combo but I would stink with the small pumps. Well, we went from looking like fools at Paducah to record holders 2 races later, everything was checked and we were legal in every aspect. I showed Mike Minnick the plugs after the first 259 run and they looked new. So if I get a few other glitches fixed we should be OK.

Thanks Brent

The real issue for Massey is not the racing community but finding a sponsor who would want him. He's going to be a hard sell. We all know he can drive.

If he was in the countdown hunt why did NHRA pull SM's name off the board before Indy even started. It may have been a decision that was higher up the food chain than DSR, giving DSR no choice but to release him.

Only one "N" Virgil.....you're killing me! Good luck out west. You guys will do us east of Mississippi proud no doubt.
Sometimes I stutter when I type Mike, sorry. Did I get that right?

Randy, your speculation is wrong. In both sides of the story, Don explained to Spencer what needed to take place to stay on the team, Spencer made the decision to leave the team instead and left, upon which DSR released him and withdrew his entry from Indy. That action caused NHRA to remove him from the shootout and replace with another team. They do not put your name on the countdown board until you have clinched a spot, which he hadn't. Both Dave and Clay had a chance to catch him at the start of the event, which was talked about during the entire broadcast.

Shortly after him leaving the team some family medical issues arose and Spencer has several things to contemplate about his future. No rush as he is still young.

Nice to have some facts to go with the speculation. Spencer's a great driver and truly loves the sport. He seems to be as content working or driving for an underfunded team as he was for Snake or DSR. I don't expect he'll be on the sidelines too long.

The 259 is scary Virgil. If the plugs look new the et that could follow will put everyone on their butts. You guys have been pros for a long time. I think everyone is going to get schooled. It will be an exciting Bakersfield !!

Everyone knows you can't and won't tell us what happened; we all understand why, we totally respect the reasons and I'm not asking either. But I wish you'd do one thing, sir, since you now have an explanation from the man himself - kill the rumor that Massey was under the influence at Fan Fest and made a public spectacle of himself, as has been widely reported. That right there would take 90% of the negative speculation away from Spencer, and give him some deserved credit... IF indeed it's truly a rumor.

So what I'm asking is either say NO, that wasn't the reason, or don't respond at all. Personally, I'd like to see Massey get off the drunk-in-public hot seat if he wasn't guilty of such activity.

Thank you.

I have no knowledge of what did or did not transpire at Fan Fest. From what I think I know it had no bearing on the parting of ways.

...
I do agree that whatever he did probably had nothing to do with NHRA. It's Schumachers teams and rules, same as any employer, you break them you lose.

Points holding playoff contender, has the ability to come up with short term funding, proven competitor with wins, talented driver and marketing representitive.
And yet, he's not in a seat.

Hmmmm.... you sure about that first sentence? ;)

He was eliminated from the points showdown buy not putting togather a team and competing at Indy. Not sure he could have been that successful in such a short time and stopped Dave Conelly from bumping out him since Dave went to the finals.
