Wow thanks everyone for the input, and the PM's I've received. If anything comes from this, I will leave the decision up to those with the checkbook as far as who to sponsor. I just wanted to see if the powers that be at my company would be interested. I really hope something comes from it though. I'm cautiously excited at this point

Ah Karl don't sweat it - no worries My inbox has been very busy At this point, my proposal (including the official power point from the NHRA for marketing purposes) was sent to the VP of Marketing the other day, so hopefully I'll hear something next week. I really have no idea of the expected turn around time, but with the 08 Gators being less than 6mo away, I wanted to get things in motion to allow for breathing room for negotiations with potential drivers/teams. To everyone who's dropped me a PM with advice and personal phone numbers, thank you very much, it is definitely appreciated. I will be pretty flat if I'm shot down right away, and doing double back flips if he bites and wants more info

When I see press releases about new marketing partners, I wondered if it's product sponsorship or just money to a team for a spot on the car. Also how does this equate to Return on Investment for a company. Thanks in advance.

Correct! Some of us hate the term 'sponsor'. There is this train of thought that a sponsor pays a team and some teams just slap a sticker and go racing.

Whereas a marketing partner is a team effort. Where the race team and the 'company' partner to work on the marketing campaign.
