Paul was a true professional on and off the drag strip. He was instrumental in our sport plus with the drivers he had. Leonard Hughes, Leroy Goldstein, Richard Tharp, Mark Oswald.. RIP Paul..Our prayers go out to the entire Candies family.

Sad day here in Cajun Country. As you can see by my avatar I have been a fan of the Candies & Hughes team for a long time. As a kid growing up who loved drag racing, I just couldn't wait for the local events when Paul & Lenoard brought their car out to Soutland Dragway to take on all comers. Paul was always a class act. We had been seeing him at the track a lot laterly since his boys wer back racing with the Candies Family Motorsports cars. R.I.P Paul you will be missed....
