man that is a huge bummer to mee , but pontiac had it coming. they should have never stopped making the bonnevilles and grand prixs and they should have made a new trans am and a real version of a retro GTO. but instead they chose to go the cookie cutter route and make thier cars look like everything else. but this is what they get. guess i gotta walk out into the garage if i wanna see cool ponchos . when the 3 year rule expires, i guess the GM pro stock cars will be all cobalts

Why not file BK, dump the UAW (who has held a gun to their heads for over 1/2 century) and restructure keeping all brands while being competitive? Seems too easy for me.

Hey - not so fast there with deep-sixing the Buicks! I know a guy here in town who has an '02 LeSabre, and he retrofitted the 3800 V-6 with an Eaton Supercharger on top (like the Grand Prix GTP's). A true sleeper... it looks like Granny's grocery getter. I can attest, that thing can fry the front wheels for what seems like about 500 feet at a stop light. He gave me a run for my money in my GTP. I keep asking him to go out to Bamdimere one weekend with me and we'll settle our little bet!

they are saying that monday is the offical day for pontiac to be dumped , guess when i get home on monday in memory of my beloved ponchos i will have to do a massive burnout on my street with my pro street GTO then drive my 63 tempest sd clone for the rest of the week they cant take our classic ponchos away!

It's a bad deal for certain. I fear that Buick and GMC will not command enough volume to maintain that dealer network.
My Dad worked for Olds (he worked for some foreign companies, too). He drives a Pontiac.
I bought a Solstice a few months ago, my son has a GTO, and my grandson a G-5. We're not religious about it, it just worked out that way.
I used to own an AMX.
Maybe, I'll buy a Toyondassan next and watch them go out of business!

They should have done that in the beginning and saved us tax payers 15XXXXXXLarge. Now it's cost us 15B and they will be in the same place they would have been except we will take over payments on the union.
