I am thing about taking a vacation towards the end of the year and I am wondering which venue is better to take in: pomona or vegas?

If I decide to do it, i'm going to have to book a flight and a hotel....any suggestions?

Tough choice, man.

I've been to both multiple times and I can say they're both fantastic facilities. In terms of amenities I'd say Vegas is better, but when it comes to performance & history it's Pomona.

Like I said, it's a tough choice but if I could only pick one I'd say Pomona.

that's easy...Vegas would be more fun.

Don't forget it's Halloween weekend, and there's a non stop costume show out on the sidewalks at night. It's a good time for sure.

Casino Royale is right in the middle of the strip and would probably be your less expensive choice in hotels, we always stay there.

We always make the fall Vegas race a week long event. We fly in on Saturday. Attend the finals on Sunday. Free day on Monday. Attend the SEMA show Tuesday through Friday. Attend the NHRA Breakfast on Wednesday.
Then finish it off with the NHRA Division 7 races the following weekend and fly home on Sunday. We get a lot of bang for the buck.

If it's between those two, Vegas for sure! So many things to do, places to see. Plus Vegas has one of the best facilities in the country!:D

Vegas baby, VEGAS!! Pomona's awesome too, but there's just so much more fun and stuff to do at the "Adult Playground".

Few years ago, we went on a Saturday/Saturday Mexican Riviera cruise out of Los Angeles (San Pedro) and were able to get from the piers Sat morning see 2 rounds of Pro Qualfying on Saturday Only day with 2 rounds), the Sunday race and make the Red Eye back East Sunday evening.

Are there any in-n-out's in the vegas area?

One thing I have promised myself....if I ever make it out west a trip to in-n-out is definitely will be on the to do list

I totally forgot to mention In and Out. They've announced that they're finally moving eastward to Texas and Dallas is only five hours from here. I think I could drive down for lunch and make it back in time to watch the evening news. Did I mention how much I love In and Out burgers...and drag racing? :)

cool deal...

I'm going to start pricing flights and rooms over the weekend and see what deals I can get.

It's worth going to Vegas on halloween, even if there wasn't a race. If you get in on thursday there is usually a fan fair some where in town. The last few years it was on freemont street. There are a lot of maters that come to the Vegas race. You have to see Paul Flores as the human wally. One year Angelle rode by our pit on her bike in a cheerleader outfit. That was a mental image I will never forget. And then there are the fram girls on halloween. "WOW"
