would be good to have more than 16 in each field to make qualifying that bit more interesting .. when the 2 lucas cars are added that will make 16 and there is still a possibility lex joon may be racing. and maybe urs erbacher. what about clay millican is he not racing this year ?

Lex Joon's equipment is here in the states. Kevin Poynter and myself have been attempting to assist Lex in obtaining sponsorship so that he can run Pomona and Phoenix, and ultimately the entire 2010 season. However, as I am sure everyone is aware of, the economic situation is not making this an easy endeavor. We, however, will not give up the fight. We will continue to send proposals out until the money is in the bank, and the team is on the track.

With the short on Crew Chief positions, Kevin and I decided that we will have to be proactive in the search for a position. Lex Joon is not only a great driver - as noted from his 2005 FIA European Championship Title - but, also an incredible person with a huge heart for the crew members, fans, and sponsors - with an "Welcome All" attitude.

Hopefully, we will see all of our fans soon - both Lex's fans and Kevin's. We will keep you informed as to our progress. And, if anyone of you knows anyone that may be interested in supporting the team, even just for a race or two, we would love to entertain the options. :)

Terri, I hope you can seal a deal. Kevin was making good progress with the car and it was starting to run good.

Hi Joe, I think there will be around 20 funnycars. Are you making the trip out here. I will fly back east next Thursday and pick up the transporter. I always stop at the route 66 casino and watch the super bowl.
Still no Kalitta dragsters entered, but Arend is entered in funny car.

In theory, adding the Kalitta dragsters would get Top Fuel to a minimum of 18 cars pending any gate entries.

Also no Tony Pedregon, so that should be +1 funny car if they are truly running the full schedule which would bring that total to 19 cars.

Thank you, Eugene! I sure hope so too! And, yes, I believe that Kevin is a great tuner, with extreme passion for the sport, his team, the fans, and the win - and, can do great things for any team out there. We will not give up! :)

I hope this applies in Lex Joon's case, but once the race is upon us seems a lot of last minute deal's go through. Lets hope so...

Doug, Grubbie and Tony were added today. 18 T/F and 19 F/C . . .
fire em up! :cool::cool:

Any ideas why so many waited so late to register...sweat factor, wanted to make a grand entrance?? Or was it that close as to whether they would be there?? I'm not sure that the quantity or quality of teams add up to what we've seen in the past...but it will sure as hell be interesting!!

The Alky fields and Comp look really weak, which is surprising because the west coast is usually strong for those categories.
