Next Monday on Fast and Loud, Top Fuel!

They also were filming at the Vegas race from what I heard, and should be shown also. Even though they didn't make either field at least drag racing is getting some kind of prime time showing instead of ESPN's 3-4 am in the morning, or getting bumped until midnight on Sunday!

As for the $100k figure those guys tossed out, I'm willing to bet about half the Fuel cars out there are running for less than that!

FWIW, I suspect there may be some quid pro quo here. The parties are all friends and have done business before reportedly. Doesn't hurt to quote big dollar sponsorship numbers to help negotiations with other potential backers. Richard gets exposure and added drama for his show, team gets extra exposure. Heck, the 100K number may include the value of promotional airtime for the team, and I have no doubt the production co. is kicking in appearance payments.

We were at the Dallas race on Saturday and saw all the camera crews following Richard around filming, but we couldn't get anywhere near for a pic or an autograph that my 15 year old son wanted. GMG was parked right across from Jack Beckman's team and after Q3 we went over to Beckman's pit (I'm a former student of Jack from the drag racing school) and Jack let my 15 year old pack his parachutes with him...Jack did one and my son did the other! Well wouldn't you know it as soon as my son finished his chute, I look up and Richard Rawlings came out from their pit and gave my son a high five! Completely caught my son off guard! Priceless moment...packing chutes on a nitro funny car and the surprise high five from Richard!

Tim! Hi there! Long time no talk!

First off. Mr. James who's wife drives a car under the Kalitta umbrella. Isn't a fan of Assmonkey so I doubt out of respect Connie wouldn't go for it.
I could see it happening with a lesser funded team.

Do you really think Connie bases his business decisions on whether or not he will hurt Jesse James' feelings? That is hilarious!!

From the linked article:

"The team’s McKinney chassis was updated at Kinsley Race Cars & Marine in Arlington under direction of car chief Mike Jenschke. GMG since has formed a technical partnership with Kalitta Motorsports, the Michigan-based organization headed by drag racing legend Conrad “Connie” Kalitta and Jim Oberhofer, crew chief on Doug Kalitta’s Mac Tools Top Fuel dragster.

“We’re just leaps and bounds ahead with Kalitta Motorsports of where we’d be if we did it ourselves,” Hennen said. “All the parts these cars run are pretty much one-off stuff. It’s all the same heads and blocks but everybody runs a different clutch, fuel pump, jetting system. We’re running the Kalitta-type setup, and it’s not like you can go buy this stuff off the shelf.”
