Mater is alive and well on my end, heck I've been chatting with Shannon about advertising my business soon.
No it was the Mater, I bet if you could find the average number of daily posts over the years you'll probably find a steady decline.
I've been hearing similar things for several years.
Maybe it’s the state of Drag Racing, people are just tired
Maybe it’s the economy, people are more worried about their jobs or are working additonal jobs or going to school and don't have as much free time to play
Maybe there's nothing wrong and someone just perceives its in decline due to their own feelings
Chances are its just the natural ebb and flow of any relationship. I've heard people talk before about the lifecyle of a message board. According to some we have far outlived what we should have as most message boards would have disappeared by now.
No worries Joe, the mater is fine. After all its just the regular season now. As long as we're in the top 10, we don't have to really start posting until the countdown

I just took a quick look at our web stats. Year to date compared to last year we are up 22% in visits. That is great to hear that the Mater is growing in these economic hard times. I want to thank all the members of Mater for making this place what it is today.

Even if it was down 22% after requiring real names I can think of at least 22% of the posts and posters (posers) who never had anything constructive to contribute in the first place. In fact, a lot of them were pretty disgusting.
Nothing like a little accountability to keep the folks honest.
