Yep, I remember years ago at Pomona Del was circling around the Force pit area. So I ask him ....his reply was I'm racing Richard Hartman in the final and I don't have the parts.

races helping racers has always been common practice in drag racing. I'm sure lots of people helped Force along the way and he does the same. And that's what's great about drag racing. My original post that got lots of people upset is my opinion. I haven't seen anyone disprove anything I said, just alot of personal attacks, which just goes to show the kind of fans force draws. Force is not a self made man, he is an Austin Coil made man. But you won't hear him say that. BTW.. there are at least 2 people posting in this thread using other peoples names. Anyone care to guess who they are?

Gary, if what you say is true then tell us who they are. Your profile states pretty clear who you are.
I think most have avoided your comment as it was a bit over the top and with most of your follow up comments you seem to just be trolling. I wouldn't take no response as an affirmation of your "facts" as you said. I'm indifferent on Force but even I could post several pro and cons on your points.
Man this thread is out of hand. Force and Coil made each other. Pretty sure Coil was making a good living long before the era of high paid CCs. They started with nothing and Force found the money. He gave Coil the budget to become a true innovator. Nobody truly knows what happened at the end, I'm sure it was money, but those two guys owe each other for their success.

I'm sure you work together with him to some degree. How does it hurt you when you see John Force, a 16-time champion and the face of the sport, struggling to get his own personal sponsorship?
TC: Just so you know, we work with any and all teams that reach out and ask for help. We've offered up our assistance to just about everyone out there. And that could mean me or someone else here getting on a plane and flying to a corporate office and making a presentation. It could mean us putting together a PowerPoint presentation that's very compelling, using our Scarborough Market Research that we pay for . . . that the teams probably couldn’t do on their own......

Well, Michael, might I suggest that you at least consider that I MIGHT be intelligent enough to have actually read the interview you refer to. If YOU would take the time to re-read my post (which was a sarcastic attempt at humor, by the way) you might notice that I didn't say that Compton had no reason to be there. I was alluding to the fact that the same amount of official hoopla is not present in important announcements by other teams i.e. Millican team et al.
There are those of us on the board who are not fans of JFR, and I make no apologies for that. It's my right and my opinion to express. As long as I try to do it in a coherent, civil manner, I see nothing wrong with that. I am no more rabid in my disdain for JFR than many of the JFR supporters are with their own support of all things JFR, which they are also very much entitled to.
I am sorry my comments offended you, but I ask that in the future you try not to make assumptions as to what material I have or have not read.

When your local sports team signs a star free agent there is a press conference with all the team execs, when they sign a 3rd stringer off the practice squad there isn't as much hoopla.
Now I don't mean that as a slam to Clay or anyone else (I happen to be a ginormous Clay fan as he's one of the 3 TF drivers I root for to win it all each year) but there is a difference between Force and other drivers.
Look at this thread 13 pages 50,000+ views. Now look at announcements from smaller teams, added up they don't equal the attention (good or bad) that teams such as Force garners. I hate the Yankees and Cowboys but ESPN, Fox, NFL and MLB always trot them out there center stage because love them or hate them, they get attention.
I know many complain that NHRA steals sponsors. I know in my dealings with the marketing/sponsorship department they have been nothing but helpful. Not just passing along info I needed but going beyond that as well. They were very helpful.

What amazes me is this deal was kept under wraps for so long.
let's hear it, after all this is a discussion board. My posts that you think are trolling are my responses to personal attacks because the mods didn't say anything. This place used to be great back in the day with J-rod, joker, t. smith and others being able to speak freely. Since the name change thing was implemented, this place is a boring ghost town... nothing wrong with a lively discussion. And yes, my 1st post was a bit over the top. So what, it got people talking. I don't take what people say on message boards seriously like some of the people here. Also I think it's great Force has new sponsors and will be out there for a long time to come. But as an Al Hoffman, Etchells and Bazemore fan, I'm honor bound to dislike john force
