It's official JFR and Prock part ways (15 Viewers)

Phil is one hell of a driver. I'd love to see him back on the tour full time someday.
I agree 100%. The frustrating part for me as a regular fan is that racing isn't about winning anymore, it's a business. And as Mike Dunn once said, "fans don't pay to watch a business run" Did you know on Phil Burkhart's last year with the Worsham's he finished in the points substantially higher than Del? So why not axe Del? As a team owner, why not keep the best? Because it's not about winning, it's about money. Sad but true.

I was thinking that the other day and I could very well be out of line on this, but all three of them just showed up with their helmets, but never took any interest in running the family business?
Tony
Out of line yes, because you have no clue of who works in the Force organization and have for many years. I do. the daughter's do work there and Ashley is a V.P.
Larry Sutton---🤠

Working at the business and being home is a lot different than traveling 7 days a week chasing money and trying to drive too.
I respect your opinion and you have been at this forever and have more knowledge than most here. However based on life experiences very few businesses continue after Dad passes it on.
JFR is John and I do not see anyone filling his shoes or the kids putting the work to continue it when he is gone. Also sponsors are there because of John I can see them bailing if he goes. I hope I am wrong but I have to look at it from experience.

V.P. of what? Watching the best crew chief and driver in the business walk out the door?

As I said in another thread, who is running JFR?

Well it’s certainly possible whoever let them walk made a business decision. If (and I am just putting numbers in here for sake of argument - you can swap in any numbers you want) the Prock family wanted $4 million per year, and the most profit they could return to JFR would be $3 million per year it would make no financial sense to keep them. Meanwhile, Tasca may be so hungry for Thomas to tune his car he is willing to fork over the $4 million per year even if he loses money. Tasca has something to prove - JFR doesn’t, and they still keep Cornwall to sponsor whatever team they put together to replace the Procks.

Yeah, but who's to say it was about money? With that said, I would hope the Procks got a raise before going to work for someone who is neck and neck with Cruz Pedregon in crew chief firings.

I just said it is possible it was about money. If it is about leadership changes at JFR, that could have had an impact too. But, this whole thing had to have been in the works for quite a while, so if it was JFR leadership, that must have been known internally for quite a while too.

Since his name has been mentioned, I always liked Tommy Johnson. While I would like to see him drive again , I'd rather see him stay with the announcing gig at IHRA. He and Ken Stout make a good team.
Granted it's a looser environment at IHRA but I enjoy watching and the commentating.

Let me clarify, this is a "What if!"
I wonder what kind of uproar there would be if Murder Nova from Street Outlaws was announced as a new driver 🤔
Or maybe Cleetus.
That would shake things up!😆

Rahal will end up running it

Blue collar, machine shop, hands on and basically no one interested in cars, a few into trucks. Heck when I started out every car in the lot was a race car, every kid was counting the days till their license.[/QUOTE]

That's how I got into machine shop work, was due to racing. Lol

i see a lot of potential if hart and rahal have a say in things. sometimes a little change can lead to great things.
