Is there a reason there seem to be more funny cars than top fuelers?

Is this just a cyclical thing, or is there more to it?
Two of the main reasons are signage a F/C body presents larger (taller) area for sponsors, people can relate to a car body similar to what they can drive that is why some manufacturers have been involved over the years - the ROI or what wins on Sunday sells on Monday that's why MOPAR, TOYOTA, CHEVROLET and FORD were involved in 2025 and prior years.

Funny cars are definitely a bill board compared to a dragster. I do like the crane arm camera on the starting but they try to show more rear wheel lug nuts than the actual car. I think if the put a small camera on the top of the guard rail on the starting line (non moving) both sides they would be able to please the dragster sponsors more and also the funny car coverage would improve. At the four wide's you would be better off paying for a airplane pulling a sponsor's banner if you are trying to promote a sponsor's product. Just my opinion.

I'm a HUGE Alcohol Funny Car fan, but for Nitro I prefer Top Fuel. I think that's from my roots in the sport - the Alcohol Funny Car shows at New England Dragway, particularly with Arnie Karp and Dick Bell was my favorite category to watch at those events. But for Nitro, as much as I loved Chuck Etchells, Bobby Lagana, Jerry Caminito, DA Santucci and all the east coast based Nitro funnies, Shirly and Big Daddy just have this magnificent lore over me for their history and the impact they have on the sport, and so I prefer Top Fuel and Funny Car when it comes to Mission Foods classes!

there were 39 TF'rs that scored nhra pts. in '25. by seasons end, only 9 were full time. (salinas and torrence backed off)
there were 35 FC's that scored nhra pts. in '25. there were 14 full time.

How many of those are unique cars vs a car driven at a couple races by one driver and a couple other races by another driver?
