Interesting Jon Capps In-Car Video

Awesome! You should (and am sure you are) very grateful getting to drive one of those things on a regular basis. You are kind of a superstar to people like me who this video is the closest I will ever get to getting behind the wheel of a F/C.

Upsssss..., I guess I should have inserted that I am JOHN Capps (father to Ron & JON)...!!! I WISH I could make a pass in the "Jungle" car..!!!.

Wow, those camera views are way more realistic than what they seem to be on ESPN. That Jungle Jim ride sure looked cool. Thanks for sharing.

John, I have been around Ron at some functions at NHRA and also met Jon at times when he was helping Shields team, You have good reason to be very proud of theme both, Thanks for the video, I to wish I could make a lap in the jungle car

That was the coolest video ever. Seemed like a real clean pass.

I'm sure he was wondering what the hold up was on at least 2 occasions.

Thanks for the link, that is some really cool video. Makes me want to sell the T/D and start putting together a Nostalgia fuel car. I have a couple Friends that sold their T/Ds and picked up outlaw fuel altered rides, not much more money but you should see the smiles on their faces...just need to make the plunge I guess.

Wow.
That is the best image quality and sound I have seen from those mini cameras. There is no jerky shaking/jarring and the microphone picks up quiet sounds yet does not get saturated during the high decibels.

Great vid.

John is that a Replay XD unit ? What was the et and speed on the run ? Great video quality . Thanks for sharing it.

It looked to me like the other car (Blue Max?) was taking a bit more time than Jon would have liked to get started and ready, and then to stage. I noticed that the other car's crew members didn't get down the track for the burnout until just before they let Jon do his. Same for the start. Looks like they had Jon's car ready, and were waiting for the other car.

Did I hear something about "put a rod out of it." whilst Jon was exiting out the roof hatch??

Great high quality video and sound, by the way!!! Three thumbs up! (Use to work at a nuclear reactor site in Idaho once! :D )

+1 The quality, especially the audio, is amazing.

Jon has been trying different cameras & settings & I'll defer the tech stuff to
him. He has been tweeking the settings for the last few runs. I will see if he will get on line and answer some questions about the weekend...

The camera is not a gopro, it is a replayxd xd1080(Replay XD)
one of the advantages to this camera is the you can change the settings to fit your use. the website goes into all of the details. For the price i think you will be hard pressed to match it..
i have a few video' on my youtube channel.

Jon,

thank you, the quality is outstanding; camera mounted to rollcage?
this view needs to play on espn broadcasts.

Actually, the cam is mounted to the helmet, as this "puts YOU in the seat" like reading a story written in First-Person as compared to a car-mount being a Second-Person and an outside shot being Third-Person.... seems to bring you into the story better in my opinion.

Poppa-Capps

That really does rock! Thanks Jon & John.

Actually, that ride was just like my NHRA PC game..hehe.

Loved it..and he shouldn't have been campin over there.
