I have faithfully followed John Force through the "lose to Prudhomme" years and the "lose to Bernstein" years, teared up when he finally got his "first" Wally, bristled at all the guys who trash talked about beating him but couldn't (Baze , Toliver , et al ) , cheered when he won the only Funny Car vs Top Fuel showdown, grieved with the team at the loss of Eric Medlen, gasped at the sight of his accident, worried when his kids started running Nitro, and wondered what would happen when his longtime crewchiefs hung it up.
Thankfully, he has made it through it all, with his amazing group of teams, and he deserves all 16 Championships, having won them both the old way and in the Countdown era.
May he race longer than the Greek and hoist his 30th Champion trophy someday![]()
Very cool to see Papa John on NBC Nightly News! I`m not as big a fan of him as I used to be, but I know this sport is going to be a lot different once he hangs it up. And that`s probably not a good thing. Congrats on #16 John!
Looking forward to being in Pomona next weekend![]()
