.."Some times people bite off more than they can chew in life, especially in our sport. How many Bankrupsy's, forclosures, wage garnishments, Divorces, and other finantial and personal losses have occured because of peoples "NEED FOR SPEED"? So, because I would give someone a 2nd chance in life, does that make me "Shallow" in your opinion"..
Tim,
With all due respect, you obviously haven't followed what actually happened here with Mr. Knoll. He committed fraud and now the federal government is now involved, spending our tax dollars to find him and likely prosecute him.
His actions cost EVERYONE money. Our money, which if you haven't noticed is in short supply right now. His ego got in his way and his Viper wreck was 4 years ago. That is a smoke screen. He is bad and his actions were calculated. He doesn't give a rat's ass about you or anyone else.
Would you take a check from Gene Snow too?
Timmah,
I really respect your opinion but I did read what you wrote and I have confidence in my reading comprehension.
Even if the cashiers check was a good one, I, in good faith, could not accept the money knowing the past history and how many people got the screws put to them. Yeah, a few may have "landed on their feet" but there are many others out there that haven't...employees, vendors, taxpayers, etc. I think in an earlier thread, one of his former employees is stuck with a huge AMEX bill.
It doesn't make you shallow it shows you have compassion for your fellow racer but if you would be willing to risk everything you have for this sport then a reality check is in need.
Torco International Corporation (Torco Oil) has always owned the trademark on Torco, they are headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California and the new Torco Race Fuels is headquartered in Phoenix, AZ.
Neither have anything to do with Evan Knoll.
Wasn't Torco Oil was suing Torco Race Fuels at some point?
I was talking to one of the pro mod crew guys at G-ville and he said that Evan was given 300 million by uncle Sam to develop alternative fuels and used it to fund the race cars. Let's just say he's far, far away somewheres.
