ESPN Telecast

Hopefully Paul Page is over his disappointment that Courtney Force didn't win over Jack Beckman, Jack is a great guy.

Too bad Page and most of the ESPN/NHRA staff and Suits are such a JFR Cheerleaders.

SportsMedia bias at its worst.

Obviously another Force hater..Page was also pulling for Erica to get her first win. Why is everyone so quick to trash the Force coverage? The guy is a legend, and probably the best currently racing ambassador for the sport. How often do you see Force with Beckman or Capps on the back of his scooter giving them a ride back to the pits after a run? John is also one of the best guys out there for giving credit and respect to his competitors. The ESPN coverage has gotten away from a day in the life of Force coverage, what more do you want? You think they should just tottally ignore him and his team? Get real...GEESH

Once again, why are you posting this here? If you have a comment for ESPN why don't you just tell them directly?

It's not that hard, [email protected] will get the message right to the guys you hope are reading this.

David you seem very confused, I don't give a crap if you are a FORCE LOVER, but an ESPN Commentator should be void of preference, he or she needs to be a lot less of a cheerleader than the way Page has become, his rabid JFR bias is deafening.

I don't hear that bias in the reporting of John Kernan or David Rieff.

There's a big difference between cheerleading and reporting a winner.

Jeez...

I'm not confused at all. Yes I am a fan of John force, but so what? I don't sit around moaning and complaining when ESPN interviews Capps or the Pedregons. I enjoy everything about drag racing.

I would hope that ESPN pays someone to keep an ear to the ground and an eye on the drag racing forums to seek out feedback... positive and negative

I guess if it really bothered me (It doesn't, but I commented anyway [see below]) I would email them directly.

Possibly seeking support for their complaint.

Its a discussion board.

If I had any drag racing fans here at the office, we would sit around the water-cooler and discuss the weekend's race. Since nobody at my office watches the drag races, I come here to discuss it. The topic of PP and his cheer leading came up, so I discussed it.

Also, another funny thing to notice... this thread was dying until the subject of John Force came up... now everyone is all fired up!

Good coverage. Great race.
I have e-mailed ESPN. I might as well have hollered down a rain barrel.
The shorter time is fine, probably better, but a shot or two of the starting line ritual - a drag racing exclusive - should be retained. It's of interest to new viewers and enhances the tension of the impending race.
Cheers,
Ed
P.S. Thanks, Alan, for the e-mail address. I may try again including when I have praise for changes. We've not had much rain, anyway.

just FYI.
emailed espn monday morning.
later the same morning received the standard kickback email from espn stating
they had received my comments and would be passed along.
later the same day received another email from espn thanking me for
the 'great feedback' (which is verbatim how they worded it)

As long as we don't have to sit thru the ride to the track with
John and Courtney, I'm a happy viewer. However, I do think that any race
that Leeza is backing up Jeff should qualify for an extra 1/2 hour or so...;)

US Nationals is the biggest race of the year. Just a dang fact. I mean all of racing. if you don't think the US Nationals is the biggest race of the NHRA season then thats your damn fault. Sorry bout your damn luck. Valvoline.

So then a race with Leeza backing up Jeff AND Alice backing up Bob Bode should be worth an extra hour :D

Not sure I can retain my sanity with 11 hours of Paul P., but, figure 20 minutes an hour for commercials, 20 minutes of fluff, we may see 20 minutes of cars per hour, which would be about 3.5 hours of 'cars on the track' over the 2 day period.

Now everyone repeat after me.... "PEDDLE-FEST!!!!!!!!":o:eek:
