The cone on the right of the picture (driver's left) that you have labelled as "first cone" is actually the 2nd cone that Kenny hit. Watch the video again in slo-mo and you'll see the 1st cone moves slowly compared to the 2nd cone he hits which really goes flying.

I see what your pointing out, but that looks pretty far from the edge of the tire. I say that because I always thought chunking most often (only?) happens on the edges of the tire. BTW, on my laptop that's clear as mud though... Now I wish I wouldn't have deleted it from the DVR...

I'll certainley bow to those "in the know". I'm no crew chief, nitro pilot or crew member so I'm sure there's plenty I won't ever know, but is it really common to have chunking that far from the edges?

I said this before and I'll say it again...pieces of Kenny's body went across the lane under John's car. Have you not seen what a timing block will do to a carbon fiber body at 300+ MPH? The block caused the damage and the splinters went into John's path..........

It's hauling ASS..........but it seems to be the "Magic Bullet" in Dallas or the "Punch" that Cassuis Clay (Ali) Hit Sonny Liston with in Lewiston ME. around here.

Due to the fact that there is no PLC in existance that can be used to time the event in a single lane (without a reflector)- that would make the sport of drag racing a MORE dangerous sport.

Would you want your insurance underwriters to know that?

I'm the last guy you would name as a "Conspiracy Theorist" yet a heck of a lot of this smells fishy.

Other than the fact that Darrell and Eric have passed on that is probably all we will ever know.................

Racing is racing and accidents happen..........for a reason.........
