Charlotte area local here. For parking, don't bother with Bruton Smith Boulevard and the main lot, traffic can be a bit of a mess. What you want to do is, assuming you're coming from the south from Charlotte and the airport, go one exit past Bruton Smith/Concord Mills Boulevard on I-85 and get off at Poplar Tent Road. Turn right, and then turn right again at the first road onto Pitts School Road. Take that little two lane road a couple of miles and then turn right onto Concord Parkway to head towards the track. Once you can see the NASCAR track, as soon as you go over the little bridge, turn right and go up the hill. You can park for free in the area behind the backstretch of the dirt track. There should be someone at this entrance that can scan your tickets and let you in without having to walk all the way around to the main gate by the tower. As for rain, I've never had an issue with flooding or anything like that. There's a creek that runs around that part of the property so it drains well in my opinion.I picked this for my bucket list 4 wide raceWill rain affect parking or access at this track? As for potential rain delay activities, the area in and around the mall on the other side of the interstate has pretty much all you could want. Tons of restaurants, everything from fast food, breakfast places, sports bars, steakhouses, whatever you want. Also an aquarium, movie theater, and go kart track there to kill some time. There's also a couple of NASCAR shops nearby like Hendrick, Trackhouse, and Roush, although they may not be open for visitors on weekends so check before you stop by.

do not go the way this guy goes (he is coming from the north), follow spence's directions......but here's a STK racer getting stacked
in lot on backside of the tri-oval nascar track. in second video he drives out of stacking lot and under concord pkwy. and up towards lot spence is talking about.
rite where he stops to say hi to larry, i believe is where the general admission parking is to the right. just a little further you'll see a small building 'TICKETS' to rt.
of UNOH sign on back of top end bleachers.........also just to rt. of UNOH sign is the tunnel, so good access to parking lot from both sides.

Sonny's BBQ is near the track and is the best BBQ I've ever had. Try the Cuban Sandwhich.
Also any City BBQ close is a good bet too. I've heard Cook-Out is also good but never tried it.
About the forecast - true story here - we had this goofball newscaster locally who years ago started the weather forecast with this - "Tomorrow night it will be partly cloudy and dark".

Cook Out is absolutely worth a visit. In this day and age, an entree, two sides, and a drink for 7 dollars and change is quite the bargain. Not just cheap, but pretty good too. And I think you can also substitute the drink for one of 50 milkshake flavors for a dollar or two moreSonny's BBQ is near the track and is the best BBQ I've ever had. Try the Cuban Sandwhich.

Cookout milkshakes - try the banana pudding or cheesecake milkshakes. They are the best.

Exactly, go to a local joint. Going to Sonny's while NC is like going to Dominos in NYC. I mean if you like it...then it is what it is, I'm not gonna tell you to not eat what you like.
But local BBQ here in NC is outstanding. Also, Cookout (burgers, milkshakes) and Bojangles (fried chicken, biscuits) are local fast food chains with good food and are easy on the wallet.
