When Grubby had his chute pop out in Round 1, The ESPN Broadcast doesn't EVEN NOTICE IT when it's in clear view. They Said it was something else to why his car was broke.

Tremendous

Is there a new safety devise attached to the parachutes which effects the electronics on a top fuel dragster

Actually it was something else. The car wouldn't fire and in the thrash to get it fired the parachutes were released.

There was an electrical connection failure in the safety shut off system. This caused the fuel to automatically shut off, the mags to ground out and the chutes to deploy. The fault was discovered as soon as they got back to the pit. They were able to fire up the car after finding the problem. Very disappointing for the team after qualifying so well.
