30 lbs seems like a pretty good chunk of weight to me. I bet that's going to throw off some setups for a little while.
 
it shouldnt slow them down that much.

100 pounds of weight = one tenth of a second!

so..u do the math!
 
I doubt the intention was to slow anybody down, but rather, not "penalize" anybody for the additional weight of recent safety changes (or, I suppose, not require anyone to cut weight elsewhere).

I could be wrong - it would not be unprecedented.

That's what I was thinking Jim.

If they wanted to slow them down any amount the change would be much more significant than adding 30lbs.
