Well… How about we settle for 85%?anyone's thoughts on adding A/Fuel Funny Cars to Alcohol class, a 100% injected nitro car on the starting line sounds amazing
Yes they are less expensive because of rpm and parts failuresThe biggest advantage of running A/Fuel Funny Cars is that it might add competitors, or keep existing ones in the now struggling class. I had always heard that running A/Fuel is cheaper than blown alcohol in the TAD class, but didn't know why. At the recent Northwest Nationals in Seattle, there was a completed A/Fuel Funny Car on display for use next season. The guys were very personable and informative. They claimed that with blown alcohol, you need 3 blowers at $25,000 each, that you rotate in and out, making that combination more expensive. As well, Jackie Fricke told us that A/Fuel only revs to 6800 rpm, but blown alcohol revs to 10,000 rpm resulting in more parts attrition. Although I really like both combinations, they can't let the car counts drop any further.
Well why not add a 500 lb boat anchor tooWell… How about we settle for 85%?
How about we settle for 94 %, or whatever the TAD folks are currently running.Well… How about we settle for 85%?

Have you not seen the rules?some good posts..................at 85% A/Fuel Funny Cars couldn't get in the 5's, low 6's at best...........100% and no fuel coolers
no one will build a car with those rules, someone that doesn't know may?Sounds like people need to read the rules package that already been approved for the 2023 season...
NHRA ADDS A/FUEL ENGINE PROGRAM TO TOP ALCOHOL FUNNY CAR
like I said, no one will build a car to those rules, can't compete, crazy rulesHave you not seen the rules?
those rules are crazy, cars can't run under those rulesSounds like people need to read the rules package that already been approved for the 2023 season...

NHRA ADDS A/FUEL ENGINE PROGRAM TO TOP ALCOHOL FUNNY CAR
85% will never work, like I said cars will not get in the 5'sWell… How about we settle for 85%?
with the rules proposed you will have to add around 300#, crazy and not safeWell why not add a 500 lb boat anchor too
I looked for them, just didn't look in the right place. Personally I believe 85% nitro cars will be 'blown away', pun intended. Guess we'll see after a couple of races. They need to allow 95 percent everywhere.Sounds like people need to read the rules package that already been approved for the 2023 season...
NHRA ADDS A/FUEL ENGINE PROGRAM TO TOP ALCOHOL FUNNY CAR
I agree, it's just a starting pointThe rules are just a starting point, I suspect NHRA is being very conservative in the beginning. I doubt the 85% rule will last.
